Chicago snake!!

The snake in the OP appears to be a harmless garter snake. They have those in Minny, too....along with the equally harmless bull snake.

Yes, I see them around here often. They don't scare me other than being initially startled when coming across one.

Just because he only mentioned one snake does not mean he missed in facts.

That's correct, I actually talk about rattlesnake because I have a lot of interest in this snake. :)

That's probably true, but I know a little more than he does in terms of where poisonous snakes are. I might not know them all, but I know the majority of them are down south.

It is very bad idea to state that you know more than everybody.

I live in state that where venomous snakes is more prolong, especially in rural and forest.

I know about Chicago metro and South IL are different, but Chicago metro is part of Upper Midwest that where you have brutal winter, but in South IL, not much but it can be bad as Chicago metro sometime.

I stopped and got of out my car to pick up a garter snake that was in the road. Someone would had drove over the poor snake .

I found few snakes from our basement. No idea how hell they get inside. So I took them to outside and free them. Also I found a lot baby snakes at outside when I took old tree log out.

One times. Our husky almost bring the turtle (hard shell and around 7 inches) inside the house. I was yelled at him. He dropped the turtle down. I just like oh crap. I took turtle to home and fed it and watched it in the box for two days. It got better then I free it outside. It got a few scratchs from our two huskies. Oh poor to turtle.

I had a Samoyed husky that loves to play the frogs in my mom back yard. I looked out the window and saw my dog stepping on something then picking her paw up. I when outside and saw she stepping on a poor frog then letting it go . I took my dog inside so the frog could get away . Poor froggie . I heard of snakes getting into the basement , my sister and her husband had that happen a few times .

You would never survive in Florida

The lake across the street from where I grew up had alligators basking in the sun every single day. Me and my brother would swim and fish in that lake - alligators didn't scare us .. and neither did all the piranhas that ate our next door neighbor's cow. He tried to save the cow, but there was a 30 foot Boa Constrictor blocking traffic that day.

Tastes just like chicken.

What is so rare about snakes in Chicago? Dude, I could find half a dozen snakes in your back yard. Just because you do not see them doesn't mean they are not there!
