Is it venomous?
Do you know about rattlesnake exist in IL?
No, it's not. And yes, I do. They're down south, and not anywhere around here.
The map suggested that Eastern Massasauga is located in North IL.

It is likely that you will find in forest or park with a lot of trees.
Well, Foxrac. You missed the fact that IL has 4 different kinds of poisonous snakes. I had to check my facts to make sure. Here ya go:

Just because he only mentioned one snake does not mean he missed in facts.

I did run in the early morning, over the bridge. All of a sudden, I spotted the snake's head popped out of the hole of the sidewalk. Of course I got jumpy and ran around it and left.. my heart was beat fast.![]()

Probably harmless. Most poisonous snakes are down south.
Scroll down and you will see.
I saw it. Can't believe I missed it.
Shows that neither of you are wrong...
Snakes can migrate anywhere and can be anywhere that people don't expect it.
That's probably true, but I know a little more than he does in terms of where poisonous snakes are. I might not know them all, but I know the majority of them are down south.
