Chicago snake!!

It's not everyday that one sees a snake in the City of Chicago. In fact, they're rarely seen at all. I got a picture of this snake near my house:



The last time I saw a snake was at Sam Dale Lake just over six months ago.

That snake above is similar to this one:

The map suggested that Eastern Massasauga is located in North IL.

I did run in the early morning, over the bridge. All of a sudden, I spotted the snake's head popped out of the hole of the sidewalk. Of course I got jumpy and ran around it and left.. my heart was beat fast.

That's probably true, but I know a little more than he does in terms of where poisonous snakes are. I might not know them all, but I know the majority of them are down south.

Oh yes I am sure. It was a perfect timing when snake's head popped out of it scared the heck of me when I ran toward to it. Thank god I did not step on its head because i was running fast.

Snakes can migrate anywhere and can be anywhere that people don't expect it.

True, but poisonous snakes aren't native to here, though. They're more native to the southern portion of the state. That snake in my OP is more than likely a common garden snake.
