Chavez says U.S. occupying Haiti in name of aid

Weren't you mistaken to think that Obama is being chummy with Chavez?

Why would the USA want to take over a money pit like Haiti? Just more Chavez nuttiness.

Perhaps Chavez would like to pour the amount of resources into Haiti to match US.

Yup, I know about Chavez is very nut about everything, it has situation about US troopers in Aruba, that where island is controlled by Netherlands and tried to find any excuse that US troopers shouldn't be in so Chavez is just pathetic.

Which is why it is advised to go to your local red cross to make donations.

I prefer Doctors Beyond Border, Riders for Health, Salvation Army, and local groups (church, non-profit org, etc.)

They are good too. Basically well known trusted groups.
Not just any group and sending money over the net to some link that says so.

Thanks to scams, I'm so wary of even making a donation!
I am the same way. I don't trust any organization that is not established like UNICEF or the Red Cross.

It's because Chavez is

The troops are necessary to keep order and also to protect the many medical personal and volunteers. After such disasters looting and crime always follow.

especially since the capital of Haiti is..... gone..... the government is broken. the infrastructure is gone. everything's gone. there are millions of displaced people. If Chavez wants to take charge, go ahead!
