It was a very very good movie I cried my eyes out.. its based on a true story an original movie inspired by an actual Lawyers Committee asylum
case, will premiere on Court TV. Chronicling
the journey of an Afghan woman who flees Taliban persecution and the young pro bono attorney who takes on her asylum case, the movie provides a sobering depiction of the nearly insurmountable obstacles that
refugees face when they arrive in the U.S. Chasing Freedom,” tells the story of a
young Afghan woman (played by Layla Alizada) who is persecuted by the Taliban
for running a school for young girls and the pro bono attorney (played by Juliette Lewis) who reluctantly takes on her asylum case
after the woman is detained when she
arrives at a U.S. airport in search of refuge.. It was sooo Good!!!!

Hmnm...it certainly does sound like a good movie -- I'll have to check the local shops and see if it's available on DVD around here.

There is a movie called Osama. It's about this woman who lost her husband while living under Taliban rule. According to Taliban laws, wives must stay in the house. They can only leave the house with a male or husband. The same rule applies to all females living in the house as well. Since this woman has no husband, she can't leave the house. So, to get by... she has her daughter dress like a boy and run errands for the family so they can get by.
