Is your cellular phone hearing aid or CI compatible ?
How do you use it ?
Do you use telecoil ? I have never..

If your cellular phone is compatible with your HA or CI then what is its brand and model name ?

My phone isn't compatible with my old HA .. so I can only send sms :(

Please share your experience here :)

I do have cellphone but I take out my hearing aid to hear the conversation. Since I am hard of hearing and I turned my volume up to the top. Yea I can hear it. :D

No, I don't have a celluar phone, I don't need it, I have my computer to keep in contract with my family if needed to, and a TTY. ;) Matter of fact, I hate celluar phones, I hate it when people use it while driving, use it when they're hanging around with you. It's rude, I wish they never had celluar phones the first place.

if I turn off my HA then I cannot hear my voice good enough and it's not enough for me to turn volume to max either

sweet, I cannot have a TTY here in my country.. I'm unlucky

Since you're not in the U.S. can you post what country you're from so we can recommend hearing aid compatible phones that can be used? I'm in the U.S. and I can hear my wife's voice on my Blackberry 7250, which is hearing aid compatible.

Phonak makes a really nice FM transmitter for hearing aids that works like a bluetooth headset. You pair the FM transmitter with your bluetooth compatible phone just like a regular bluetooth headset, your voice is picked up by the FM transmitter's microphone and the other person's voice is sent directly to your hearing aid. I don't own a cell phone, wouldn't even if I was hearing.
I wish there were adapters for regular phones that let you use a bluetooth headset. that would be nice.

If you have phonak hearing aids, you can also use it as a remote controll. My hearing aid is made by sonovation so I don't get to use that feature either.

I still prefer the phonak FM transmitter over the other one I've tried.

When I first got my hearing aid a few months ago I tried one with a T-coil in it.. never had any luck getting it to work well. I take my hearing aid out to use the phone.

amen woman!!!! I agree with you!! It is rude when someone is driving with a darn cellphone most likely your friends. :pissed: But my mother has a cell phone and she doesn't like it either but only used it when needed l like if our car is broken down or something. But honey I def. agree with you about cell phones I also don't like the fact you have to keep paying for the mins. too!!!

Take care :)

I know that feeling that is why I dont like to use the phone when I am driving or having conversation with a group of friends. I will just ignore the call unless it is emergency from my son or family members.
