New York cancels Sunday marathon in wake of deadly storm

As you can see, marathon was cancelled. You may remember NY Giants played last Sunday and lost.

My question is----should there be a law that sporting events must be cancelled in disasters like this? Or is it up to event organizations to have those events continue? I know many people argue for or against having sport events.

On one side, having sport events help fans and city's morale.

On other side, many people are upset as sport events divert attention away from disaster.

So what are your thoughts? Play or cancel sport events in cases of disasters?

Marthon ditching was right. Football was not where the disaster occured. . Marathon would have been running right past the victims who would have been starving. Football is necessary for the survival of the male. Species

depends if it bad taste....a swimming competition would been very poor taste you just got weigh up and use consonscience

It depends. It should be decided case by case.
