As I always said to my children " two wrongs don't make a right "...When one of my children faced a bully, what should they do? fight back or walk away? I taught all three of my children that fighting back doesn't solved anything but to make things worse, they could get in trouble for fighting back in school or on the school bus...
As a parents it is your responsibility to educate and protect your children in every way you can... The children do gain more focus and self-control which, in turn, raises their self-esteem and self-confidence. They also learn not to fight... That's because with heightened self-confidence and self-esteem, they do not need to prove themselves. With greater self-control, they know how to walk away from a fight.....They CAN learn how to defend themselves if they were in a situation where they can't walk away from it....But sometimes a fight can lead to serious harm, like a bully could have a weapon and your child could get seriously hurt or even killed...
Do you teach your children to walk away or fight back?....
" Bullies come in all all shape and sizes. In general, through, bullies are typically
insensitive to the feelings of others and have a desire to dominate. Physical bullies, in particular, are often physically strong and aggressive and may have a positive attitude toward violence. Bullies may confuse fear with friendship and respect . "

I have taught my foster son to walk away and ignore anyone who tries to bully him or teases him. I said the exact same thing, that if he were to do the same thing, it would make things worse, just don't bother, ignore and walk away. Especially at school, where the students just love to bully the younger students around, and I have told my foster son if any of the students bother you? Go straight to a teacher or teacher's aide and explain the problem, they are there to help.
