Oh, interesting, in my neighborhood is quitely mixed with more Obama supporters.

I wish I lived in your neighborhood, Foxrac. :) It's difficult discussing politics with my neighbors because they don't believe in the same values I do. Oh well...

At least I'll be the only one smiling when Obama wins the election. :giggle:

It used to be more conservative in 80's and 90's, IL was red state until 1992.

1992 election was big time for change in states.

Interesting. Has Illinois been a blue state ever since 1992?

Wisconsin tends to be Democratic -- although over the past several years, it has been a toss-up state.

Also, the county I live in tends to be Democratic, but the suburb where I live is conservative.

Yup, always blue state since 1992.

I second that... It's bad to expose the child to disrespect the warning sign or whatever...

But I can't see the sense why they use electricity fence to protect "McCain/Palin" sign.... I rather to keep myself from the public and trust my friends and family then I can debate cons/pros with them... than put sign my yard to show off to everyone which I support to... It written that it was happened to them before that's why they fixed the electric fence to protect McCain/Palin sign... I would not bother to put the sign at my yard when I were them.
Signs are part of their property. They have every right to protect it as long as it doesn't easily endanger other people's lives.

If they were to put the sign right next to a sidewalk where people can walk by and easily touch it, then that wouldn't be good. In this case, they put the sign close to their house... next to where the electric fence was already set up. In order to access that sign, you would have to actually trespass on their property instead of walking on the sidewalk.

Exactly right

Every owner has right to protect her/her property and their property has to be respected.

The electrical shock is safe enough for a pet!! People are exaggerating that the shock was horrific!

Come on!

Bet that kid will not tamper with anyone elses property.

I remember when my Grandfather rigged his garbage pail to keep dogs from knocking over his can and making a mess.

LOL

Sorry but with the things the way they are the owners have a right. Especially if they have a warning sign.
