Boy pulled from class over spiked hair

I'm glad that they allow public school students to buy uniforms anywhere. My kids attended an upscale preschool at which we were extorted--er, required-- to buy their overpriced t-shirts and sweatpants. Seriously, hundreds of dollars for their overpriced wear. What a waste of money!

Are you saying that kids can't be sensitive or artistic if they wear uniforms during school hours? Is their sensitivity and art dependent on their clothing that they wear at school?

Kids like to express themselves throught their clothes and hair style and having to wear an uniform does not allowed this. That would be very frustrated to some kids not be able to be themself. I did not like being told
I could not wearing a dress to school that really like ,or I could not express myself by wearing my hair over one eye . . Kids are trying to find out who they're and they should be allowed to to be true to their real self! They're are only kids once!

Lucky you Americans have that option where you can buy school uniform anywhere. I see it's much cheaper than here.

Private school uniforms can cost parents over $500 for one child.
So to save money, we'd buy uniform one size big so they can grow into it.

Public school uniforms are cheaper but in the last two years of high school, it's a bit more costly.

Well, there is plenty of American schools, between 65% to 70% don't have uniform policy.

My poor brother. He was younger than me, so he got some of my hand-me-downs. My parents planned for that in ways that wouldn't embarrass him. They bought me boy's used ice skates (black), boy's bicycle, boy's play clothes, etc. They figured it was less embarrassing for me to use boys' things than for my brother to use girls' things.

Yeah , I guess it would harder for a boy to get girls hand me down . My ex husband hated having to wear girl hand me down!

They don't have to wear uniforms after school or on weekends.

My daughter wore uniforms Pre K - 12. They were much cheaper here than regular clothes  She didn't seem to mind wearing them.
