while it's true that most whites earn more money than blacks, and it obviously doesn't seem fair that way, but there are actually afew reasons why it seems that way.

More black people die than white people do. less black people earn college degrees than white people do and most black people go to prison than white people do, etc...it's just sad, I tell you.

I don't blame the school system for it. I blame the people themselves for making themselves less educated. I've seen black students here or white students who try to be like blacks... act like they are "all that" or "da man". They don't show respect for others and try to dominate others with their behavior and attitudes. They don't go to class. They party too much with their so-called "COLT 45" beer. They walk around with their hearing aids hanging out of their ears. They have pants down very low. They fail class. They develop drinking problems. They complain that their hearing aids are no good and not strong enough. They get in trouble for exposing their boxers in public too much. What happens? They blame RIT for treating them like that because they're black. Oh, puh-leeze! I've seen those white black-wanna-bes get in the same kind of trouble too. Secondly, it's their own behavior that gets them in trouble, not the racial profiling that the school does. :roll:
 
also keep in mind that black people have been poor in the past.

many white people were very rich in the past.

money gets handed down from generation to generation

when you get handed a lot of money and become rich, you can do more things with the money and get out of credit and make yourself look better and get a better job/life with that.

when you get handed nothing because your parents were poor, you cant do anything and continue to stay poor and work your way up slowly.

but trust me, give it about 20-40 more years and the african american's will soon catch up.

slowly but surely, just like women. its been 40 years and they are still very slowly catching up. still not there, but they are on their way and now we might have a lady president soon.

that's about true. men still earn more money than women do, as of today. doesn't matter what kind of career the woman is in, the man will still earn more money.

seems kind of slow for women to catch up, even though it still sounds sexist in public.
 
You're right. Some of us are poor because of our family's past. However, that shouldn't be the reason for changing our attitude. I've seen poor people who are great leaders and rich people who are snobs.

I came from the poor families and I love to work around in the families. I don't hang out much with deafies/hearin' to have fun...maybe like once in awhile is okay for me. I like to work on buildin' things in life, ya know -- just focusin' on what I want my dreams to come true that I've always wanted for a loooong time.

And, yes some blacks do success, if they focus on their life to work hard and not to play around foolishly. Life is too short.

"Life" was given to people once they were born and they need to be MORE CREATIVE to make it success with what they have in their own skills/talents. Go to the library, read more and build on more knowledge. Use their hands to work and be an artist to draw in life and make that life to be real out of you... to reveal who you really are. You are on your own boss of your life. I believe that blacks can do better, if they have their "strive" for it and be motivated. :)
 
There are a lot of arguments to why blacks are still disadvantaged. Some say that they're just genetically doomed because they're intellectually inferior (the Bell Curve theory). Some say it's because of their poverty. Some say that its because of their lack of family structure. Some say that they still have the "slave mentality." Some say that they lack cultural history thus they don't have real identity. Some say their diet aren't good enough to nourish their minds.

But what cannot be disputed is that blacks can be highly functional and well educated. We just have to find their strengths and make them take advantage of their strengths than focusing on their weaknesses.

I think you know what I mean. :roll:

There has been rates of how many people die and they rate the number of deaths between blacks and whites and it turns out that the blacks have the higher number of deaths than whites do.

gang fights, too much fat food, smoking, stress, etc...you name it.
 
Statistically, blacks are more likely to have more deadly diseases such as hypertension and heart disease, to smoke, to eat poorly, and to be less active thus explaining their reduced lifespan.

But think about it, gays are more likely to contract STD's including HIV, more likely to abuse drugs, and more likely to die earlier than non-gays. Unfortunately, homophobes use that "short lifespan" logic to argue against homosexuality yet ignore that their same logic can be used for racist arguments against blacks.

I don't care. I don't read the BET news.

Most white people have their businesses, college degrees, and all.

It isn't the white people fault... not really.

We Black people don't work hard....
When I was in College, I worked hard getting my degree...
I had black roommates who try to pull me down...
want me to go party with them,, but I refused...
they kicked me out of the dorm....

I have a Black Vocational Rehab counselor, he isn't
doing anything to help me get jobs..... he didn't
mail me the paper for me to fill out so I can work for him.
People rather tell me to get a job than to give me one.

It has been 4 weeks, and that Black Vocational Rehab
couselor didn't send me the paper in the mail.

I guess I will drive over there on Monday and asked
him where is the paper so I can fill out....

Black people ain't helping each other,,
And 95% students graduating from college
are whites, asians, and hispanics...
And 5% of us are graduating....

And many blacks are dropping out High School.

And many crimes are committed by Blacks.

So there is nothing I can do....
but to try to encourage our black people to finish high school
and college.

I did not consider my post to be off-topic; rather, I was stating my belief that the poverty cycle among blacks was more or less engineered. You can deny it all you want, but to insist it was off-topic just shows your intellectual immaturity.
