YESSSSS!!! FINALLY!

Voting without auditing. (Are we insane?)
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON Nov 3 2004 -- Did the voting machines trump exit polls? There’s a way to find out.

Black Box Voting (.ORG) is conducting the largest Freedom of Information action in history. At 8:30 p.m. Election Night, Black Box Voting blanketed the U.S. with the first in a series of public records requests, to obtain internal computer logs and other documents from 3,000 individual counties and townships. Networks called the election before anyone bothered to perform even the most rudimentary audit.

America: We have permission to say No to unaudited voting. It is our right.

Among the first requests sent to counties (with all kinds of voting systems -- optical scan, touch-screen, and punch card) is a formal records request for internal audit logs, polling place results slips, modem transmission logs, and computer trouble slips.

An earlier FOIA is more sensitive, and has not been disclosed here. We will notify you as soon as we can go public with it.

Such a request filed in King County, Washington on Sept. 15, following the primary election six weeks ago, uncovered an internal audit log containing a three-hour deletion on election night; “trouble slips” revealing suspicious modem activity; and profound problems with security, including accidental disclosure of critically sensitive remote access information to poll workers, office personnel, and even, in a shocking blunder, to Black Box Voting activists.

Black Box Voting is a nonpartisan, nonprofit consumer protection group for elections. You may view the first volley of public records requests here: Freedom of Information requests here

Responses from public officials will be posted in the forum, is organized by state and county, so that any news organization or citizens group has access to the information. Black Box Voting will assist in analysis, by providing expertise in evaluating the records. Watch for the records online; Black Box Voting will be posting the results as they come in. And by the way, these are not free. The more donations we get, the more FOIAs we are empowered to do. Time's a'wasting.

We look forward to seeing you participate in this process. Join us in evaluating the previously undisclosed inside information about how our voting system works.

Democracy is still alive, well at this moment.

"If you want to win the election," [Charlie Matulka] finally said, "just control the machines."

Somebody today told me that the president of the voting machine company (it starts wtih D... "Dietor" something) publicly declares that he supports Bush...
and the state of Ohio used his machines... and Ohio had their electoral colleges for Bush...

[sniffing] I smell something fishy.

But indeed it is the sorrow and black day for everybody...
I am going to design my own "bumper" slogan-- "Bush is NOT my president. he can KISS MY ASS"...(got it posted on my frontdoor to snub those rich snobs nextdoor).... and a picture of me peeing on "BUSH"... yeah, maybe I can personalize my slogan to insert people's own faces onto their bumper sticker if they want it instead of a simple "cartoony" girl/boy...
"LET'S IMPEACH BUSH! JUST PUT A CIGAR IN HIS OFFICE AND HE IS DONE!"...

hey-- WHY DON'T WE OVERTHROW OUR GOVERNMENT!? [running up the capitol hill] THEY DON'T SERVE US! THEY ARE OUT FOR THEIR OWN GREED...[war cry]

[EDITED: DIEBOLD! That is the one. I finally found it after a heavy search.. it is over at CBS news: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/07/28/sunday/main632436.shtml
"A Diebold plot to rig the elections? Where did that idea come from? The rumors began with this letter from Diebold's CEO, Wally Odell, who was moonlighting as a Republican fundraiser. In his invitation to a benefit for Bush last August, he wrote, "I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president." "
"But Rubin says he is not accusing Diebold of rigging elections. "I'm just saying that they could do it and that we shouldn't allow our elections to be under control of vendors when there are ways of designing voting machines such that the vendors don't have the control of them." "]

Something really smelled worse than a ton of dead fish out in Florida especially when the exit poll numbers didnt jibe with the actual counts.

If I remember, the CEO of Liebold (my insult for Diebold) promised an audience he would deliver OHIO for Dumbya even though the machines were not in operation all over OHIO during Tuesday.

Gnarly....read George Orwell's "1984" ....I just noticed a few things that predicted what would happen to America compared to the fictional events occuring in "Oceania" It's making me cringe to think of 1984...20 years late!

Time to fix my sig to add a choice quote from 1984.....

Did read the book (oh god, in .. 7th grade or so... I really should re-read it)-- loved it. Made me thinking about the life that I was prompted to live. It does shed some light on our hazardous pace, possibly, into a doomed, submissive, and controlled group. Especially with our advanced technologies and the advanced degrees of greed and corruption in our politics.
If you are all for women's rights/whatever, A Handmaid's Tale is a good book. it is a lot alike 1984 but targets to show the oppression upon women. It did fuel me to fight back the traditional thoughts of how women should behave et cetera. That book is established in AMERICA. (1984, I think, was setted in Britain) The UNITED STATES. Books like those are forewarnings. They show you how much control we have given our government. THIS IS NOT A ONE-MAN RULER COUNTRY!
It appears that people have forgetten that the government is SUPPOSED to serve them, not the people serving rich white and dumb guys.
