Bikers terrorizes young family in suv

think cops took camera.

Yeah, detective want to see his camera as evidence full video clip due to biker's cameraman won't show us beating up SUV driver as "censor" on website.

My feelings are these bikers were a bunch of heartless hoodlums who think nothing of beating up a father in front of his wife and children.....I can imagine the terror the wife and children were experiencing and nothing they could do about it,

The Bikers are nothing but cowards...and as a gang of them, felt they could break any Law and get by with it, even terrorizing people.

If the man in the SUV had a gun...no telling how many people might be dead....and I would not blame the man at all, protecting his family and himself.

If I was the person in the car, I would have unloaded my gun in them. People feel brave as a gang, but there's nothing manly about beating a child's father nearly to death in front of them. Gotta love their stupidity though...helps us get them off the streets.

Wife of driver in New York highway chase with bikers speaks out

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York SUV driver was trying to protect his family when he ran over and severely injured a motorcyclist on Sunday, sparking a high-speed highway chase that ended with a gang of bikers pulling the man from his car and beating him, the driver's wife said on Thursday.

In an incident that was captured on YouTube and went viral this week, a gang of dozens of motorcyclists chased Alexian Lien's Range Rover along a Manhattan highway following a confrontation between the driver and a group of motorcycle riders.

"We were faced with a life-threatening situation, and my husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family," said Lien's wife, Rosalyn Ng, in a statement released on Thursday.

"We were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists," said Ng, who was in the car along with her husband and their two-year-old daughter during the chase.

Video of the chase begins with a fender bender between Lien's Range Rover SUV and one of the bikers in the northbound lanes of Manhattan's Henry Hudson Parkway. It escalates when Lien's car, surrounded by motorcyclists, accelerates through the crowd, crushing one rider and sending motorcycles flying.

One motorcyclist has been charged with reckless driving and unlawful imprisonment. Authorities are trying to identify more of the bikers from the video and eyewitness accounts.

A spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney's office declined to comment on questions about whether Lien could be charged for running over Mieses.

A source in the DA's office told Reuters it is unlikely Lien would be charged, given what investigators know so far. Lien "clearly felt his life was threatened," the source said.

Rider Edwin Mieses, 33, remains in critical condition with a crushed spine, two broken legs and other injuries, his wife Dayana Mieses told NBC News on Thursday.

"There's no hope for his back," Dayana Mieses said of her husband's injuries. "They crushed his spine. They broke it in two different places, so he will be forever, forever paralyzed."

In Thursday's statement, Ng said the couple were confident that "anyone faced with this sort of grave danger would have taken the same course of action in order to protect their family."

Calm down, you act like this is the first time you've encountered someone with a different opinion than your own. You weren't personally involved in this event, so it shouldn't be personal when anyone else gives an alternative option.

I still stand by my opinion that the SUV driver running over people and fleeing only served to make angry bikers even angrier. Yes, I get it, people panic and don't think clearly, but I'm saying his panic only served to exasperate the already angry bikers. I know some bikers get carried away and hit cars with their feet and hands, but you can't prove they were going to beat him up then and there. I see the biker that got hit at fault for jumping in and slowing down quickly, but the SUV driver was likely not paying attention to the biker in front of him and that lead to the accident. The SUV driver was likely looking in his rearview mirror at all the bikes behind him.

I'm done posting here in this thread since people are taking the events of another person so personal because of one insignificant person having a different opinion. People are people, bloody, greedy barbarous and cruel, so actions of others don't surprise me much at any level; humanity just sucks, but we only deal with it for a few decades and then we die and let others deal with the same crap that never ends.

First time? Not the least.

Consider from the point of view of the driver of the SUV who is protecting his family who suddenly find himself surrounded by reckless bikers who made the situation already tense by surrounding the SUV pretty close. No way to keep tabs on everybody around his SUV much less suddenly seeing a biker in front of him and then recklessly slowed down. That alone didn't help the situation and was the tipping point when the biker got hit. Again, I say it's the bikers, as a group, own fault on creating a menacing atmosphere.

Again, bikers created a menacing environment for the SUV driver and his family. That's abundantly clear in the video and quite undeniable.

Bad news, you can't do that in NY, I think.

The hero in a yellow shirt with black jacket was interviewed by Anderson Cooper on CNN TV today. He explained that he witnessed one biker trying to take Alex's wife out/several bikers beating Alex up so he jumped in and told the bikers to stop.

I just loved reading about one of the attackers in that pack - "my husband's the real victim" his wife said. Got a rap sheet six pages long, had his license to drive revoked in Massachusetts and obviously was unlicensed to ride a motercycle....I guess the wife left that part out...and who knew? He's from from Lawrence, the toilet of the Bay State....what a shock.....

You can do it anywhere. Some States though, it is illegal. What is more important, the life of your family, or going to jail, the hospital or the morgue?

2 More Bikers Held in NYC Motorcycle-SUV Brawl - ABC News

Lien has not been charged. Mieses' family held a news conference Friday with their lawyer, Gloria Allred, in which they said that he wasn't doing anything wrong when he was struck by Lien's SUV. They acknowledged that Mieses had stopped his bike in front of the family's vehicle but said he was trying to get the other riders to leave the family alone when he was hit.

Pretty dumb to stop your bike in front of a SUV not knowing the emotional state the driver may be experiencing when he already surrounded by dozens of bikers and was already harassed on the road. A bike is no match for a SUV once the driver hits the gas pedal. You don't attempt to detain a SUV with a bike in front of it...no matter what your intentions are.

You know...and I think Jiro probably can verify.....these bikers are not your typical HD gangster type. These guys operate (can't think of the class of bikes--crotch rockets?) the kinds of bikes they do are super fast and these guys are ultra skilled in handling the bikes and I pretty vividly recall these guys or guys like them do this occasionally in the streets of New York or NJ......I can see why the SUV driver did what he did (wife, child) in a very stressful situation. I'd have done the same.....

Those are def crotch rockets, and yes they do have bike clubs, and they even have female bike clubs. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are ultra skilled just because they're faster than Harley's.

I live in myrtle beach, in the spring we have two bike weeks back to back. Harley bike week kicks off on mithers day abs the following week is The Atlantic Beach Bike week, aka Black bike week and they mostly ride crotch rockets. A couple years ago on of my clients was a firefighter. She came in for a massage right after both bike weeks were done. We talked about her horrible last 2 weeks, but she told me of the the 2 bike weeks Atlantic Beach Bike week is worse. More accidents, worse accidents and more public disturbances. I personally have seen the guys on crutch rockets do incredibly stupid crap on the roads while they're here.

Awesome!!!

I remember one day sitting in traffic, forever, during Atlantic Bike week on a two lane road. Guys on crotch rockets were flying down the middle of the road, between the two lanes if traffic. I wanted to just open my door soooooo bad!! Asshats

Why not? Isn't it fun to watch them flying? I have seen these idiot having front wheel in air for at least a mile, whats their point? Flirting with their potential serious pain or even worse... death?

For you, all you can say to cop, oops, I got blonde moments. They will let you go knowing that the biker is too idiot anyway.
