Paul recognized the value of a mother and grandmother's spiritual training and example:

2 Timothy 1:
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

If thats true, I guess its okay to let the murderer/rapist
rape and murder your daughter/son. I guess there is
no need to take the murderer to the Court and
just let him go free and/or let him escape from
the prison during "his life sentence".
Just Let him hit you and you will turn
your other cheek, etc. Just let him rape/murder
another little Girl/Boy at another locations whatever.
Just Let him stay at your house/basement.

IMHO: Death Penalty is NOT a Revenge, NOT a Murder
but it is more of Punishment and Prevention from
a repeated murder/rape to another victim.

No just leave them in prison for life.

Alright.. What if he escaped from the prison
and then he found you walking down the block ...
and then... hmmm

that is, they should take care of their wives, not abuse them.
Good interpretation, BUT I do know that these particular writings have been used for justifcation for spousal abuse in some extreme fundie churches.
(like the ones that make the churches that don't allow women to be pastors look libral)

The wives are to submit themselves to their "own husbands"--not other men. Husband and wives are to submit themselves to each other.

Men are ordered to love their wives the same way they love their own bodies; that is, they should take care of their wives, not abuse them.

Thank you! ;)

I'm not surprised to see that Authors have different views to translate from scriputures on any bibles... That's why I do not follow what the bible says.

I believe women won't make good pastors because of their bad attitudes.

Everytimes I try to make a relay call, all or most females said, "no we don't take relay call".

If males picked up the phone, you know that they will be patient with deaf callers.

Look at all the police officers and firemen and rescuers, they all are trying to help you.
And doctors, how come I don't ever see any female doctors? How come every time I go to hospital, and there are male surgereons or male doctors.

Now here's my question. What does God say about the Philippines?

We don't know what God said about Philippines.
And we don't know what God said about New Orleans.

All we know is People need to learn their lesson when they cut down trees in Philippines and people need to learn their lesson when they should have left there before hurricane hit N.O. Next time get a car or request a bus from mayor.

I love the female pastor at our church - she's wonderful. I am ALWAYS willing - eager in fact - to take relay calls and I am a woman.

Can you imagine being so destitute that you have no resources to flee a hurricane? In the most prosperous nation on Earth, I think it's shameful we have not done better helping our poorest citizens.

It isn't your or anyone else responsiblities to take care the poorest citizens.

Believe it or not, I am being honest with you, most of our Black people don't want to do anything. Look at Africa.
And my black roommates kicked me out of my own dormroom, didn't care about me want a education and that black counselor think I shouldn't go after I want or work hard to get it.

I hate my own black people most of the time.

so? We women didn't invent cars, planes, and computers, without men, we women would be in bad shape.

You have forgotten that part, in old days women were not allowed to do many things alike goes to school or voting.

Quite ironically, isn't it? I generally noticed, too.

I don't know as if the Bible teaches that there should be only male pastors. It prohbits women as pastors?
Usually it's the male pastors in the old history and the recent past .. till nowadays more female pastors pop up. But only few are good ones, and that most of them preaches in the catholic or methodist churches.

Well everybody were poor... Most people at that time didn't have flushing toliets and women had to deal with mentrual cycle... And their maxi pads weren't as simple as ours. And plus no washing machine and no dishwashers, no microwave, and most people didn't have tv or anything....

So we women had to clean clean clean, wash, wash, wash, mop, mop, mop, sweep, sweep, sweep, helping out men, and plus abortion was bad, women gotta take care kids, and cook cook cook.

So it was hard for women to go colleges and all.
If there is no more oil and no more fossil fuel, or if USA suffered another stock market crash... After Bush put all our money on this war, then what? Men will look to us women to do all the housework and all again.

well now u are being fake. there's a quote i like that goes "its better to be hated for who u are, than be loved for who youre not"

if u love gay people then go make a gay friend.

AJ,

I'm gonna put your money where your mouth is.

As a Christian, I have three gay friends; two of them are in a committed relationship with each other, the other one is a divorced dad.

I also used to have a supervisor that was openly gay and I thought nothing of it. He knew I am a Christian and he made a remark once that called my bluff when he accused me of being "right wing." I said to him, "Excuse me, but I happen to vote a straight Democratic ticket." He took a step back, raised his eyebrows and said, "Oh?" Then I knew I had his respect, because I didn't lie to him and he knew it.

So, AJ, don't call me something that I'm not and not be able to back it up. Furthermore, just because I am a Christian, don't think for one second that the people (who think they) represent Christians (Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, et al), represent me. They do not. I represent me, no one else does.

Heath is going to climb all over me for this comment, but let me recommend you read Acts 2. Specifically, read where it talks about "the end times."

If you don't follow God's Word in the Holy Bible, then what do you follow? What is the source of your beliefs?
