Being a doormat for energy vampires...

Liza, usually, when I have to say no, I always do it within reason and explain why I cannot help. For example, if I have to work and my friend wants me to help with something, I simply tell my friend that I have work and will help them later. Usually, they get that stuff done when I am finished working and dont need my help anymore.

In some cases, I did have to say no because I simply didn't want to, or didn't know how to. One friend still pressures me even though I said no, and it is a pain in the ass, so I just sign off, LOL. He usually gets over that by next day.

I think as long as you don't do it in a malicous way, and just being truthful, and adding that you are sorry, but no! :) and if the person is understanding, it should work out. If the person isn't, then tough shit for him/her! :P

I always make sure my friends are OK if I ask them for help (after I know I can trust 'em), and I let them know they can always say no... there'd be no hard feelings! Although, I don't ask for help often... I sorta keep it all inside, but was thrilled a friend told me to just unload on her yesterday - she has done the same to me before, and I didn't mind either! It really goes both ways, eh??

im the same way Liza -- i do have friends who i know i can trust to talk to abt my feelings and etc and we do the same thing :D and YES it does go both ways!!!
