Back to School, College or Other :) 2007 to 2008

my son TJ will start school- aug 20th.. He will be in 3rd grade and for me.. going back to work part time... :)

Schools starts on September 17, I suppose and this might be good for my mom since my brother is a student.

My DD starts her first year of Pre-school next week - I think she will have an absolute blast. It is actually held in the same building as her daycare and she already knows alot of the other kids from the Summer Program. Plus she is a very bright outstanding child that, like her momma, LOVES to read- or in her case, likes being read to. Right now because of where her birthday lands on the School calendar I have two options.

1: Go ahead and enroll her in Kindergarten next fall with her turning 5 in mid-September OR

2: Hold her back a full year and enroll her in Kindergarten with her turning 6 in mid-September.

I still have not decided yet, but I will have her evaluated in the Spring to see where she stands as far as academic knowledge and maturity on the emotional and mental aspects. This is almost nerve wracking to think she could quite literally start school the same time I go back to college to finish out my degree.

have her go to Kindergarten next year they said its ok for kid to start school as long as she will be 5 by oct something.. so i dont see why not she cant start kindergarten... but for now.. have her go to pre-school or head start so she can be prepared for school next year... :)

You want to be real estate agent?

Before I received my license last year, the real estate market wasn't that bad, but as soon as I go it, the market went belly up. It was a very bad year for me in 2006 and am glad I am returning to complete my undergrad degree. Most likely it'll be in Communication Studies. I'll also be a reporter again for the university newspaper and get my name back out there, as I'm doing other stuff to get it out there.

Shel, Im going back to get my master's in nursing. I wish to one day be able to teach at nursing school.

Hey Doug, They also have a Doctorate of Nursing. I know of a guy in OK that is a EMT-P/CC Flight Certified, RN/CC Flight Certified, and the last time I spoke to him he was working on his Thesis for his Doctorate of Nursing. And yes, he was still working as a Flight Medic/Nurse and making VERY good money. He also has a bunch of instructor certifications too but those two were his two biggest. Go that route dude - you probably wont use your Ph.D of Nursing right away but the knowledge you'll have will be out the wazoo.

BTW- if youre wondering how I know all this stuff its because Im a former EMT

Good luck on obtaining your Masters in Nursing. Let me know how it goes mate.

Hey Doug,

I've got a question for you. When you get your doctorate in nursing, will you go by "Dr." and insist that the MD's call you that? If the nurse, who has a doctorate, screws up on something, can they be screamed at and called a low-life nurse? I was just wondering, because I've heard that doctors do chew out the nurses when something goes wrong.

Phillips, I hope you will have a good time for go to new school! Don't be excited
or nervous.

Anyways, I glad I don't have go to school anymore! Yay! I love
my job! Work is better that is IMAO. :)
