I think it is nice to see a mostly positive and less biased article.
Good for Former-President and Laura Bush.
Yeah, I second that...

hmm I thought it's 50,000 KIA in Vietnam?
Ah I looked it up:
It's 58,000 soldiers died in Vietnam.
Here's the Military Casualty Information
Speaking for myself, I do blame JFK for the loss of lives in Vietnam.
In fact, I blame him just as much as I blame former President Bush.
then you should judge on JFK? JFK is one of huge responsible for most soldiers have lost their life during Vietnam war, around over 30,000 died.
I made mistake about JFK but I was refer to LBJ.
LBJ did made increase to around 500,000 in 1968 and increase of draft the men.
I means LBJ, not JFK.
I'm talking about number of soldiers died during LBJ admin but little over 58,000 is just total for during DF (president in 1950s), JFK, LBJ, Nixon and Ford admin.
Add to that (58,000) the number of soldiers who died during the Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Clinton Adminstrations.
JFK just started it by planting seeds that led to the undeclared Vietnam War when he sent some military advisors there.
No, I'm talking about Vietnam war, little over 58,000 soldiers died in Vietnam war, from 1959 until 1975 but US don't make active war until 1963 and end in 1973 after Nixon made withdrew due terrible jungle warfare and guerrilla.
Vietnam conflict were started during Eisenhower admin then JFK, LBJ, Nixon and Ford admin but LBJ is one of responsible for largest soldiers died.

I know you were referring to Vietnam. I just added my comment to stress how many soldiers have died ever since then. When you think about it, it's a shocking number.![]()
I means LBJ, I already mention in my post.
Yup, some military technologies in Vietnam war are similar to WWII, it's very difference from US soldiers in Iraq and Afghan today.
WWII has very huge number of died but can't blame because of big affect to world and Hitler want to war against US to deactivate the military service.
He also caused over 4,000 soldiers to lose their lives by declaring war on Iraq. I know Congress approved the war, but Bush was the one who wanted it in the first place.
Exactly.
I know what you meant. I read a great history book about the Vietnam War and its title escaped my mind. You are right about JFK but he just sent some military advisors to help train South Vietnamese army to fight against the North Vietnam communist troops. The conflict became very much widening and the U.S. was dragged into the war where LBJ sent several hundred thousands of U.S. soldiers afterward.
The Vietnam War was never declared as the U.S. Congress authorized the U.S. to conduct military engagements in Vietnam War.
When military technologies are got better then loss of live from soldiers would be much less, such as good example for Iraq and Afghan today.
well - about 3,000 civilians died due to previous Administration's incompetency with National Security so......
Clinton wasn't the only one responsible for 9/11. Remember, it all started back in the 80s under the Reagan Administration and continued into the first Bush Administration.
