Ok, all of you Sidekick users out there who are or been to Gally, you know that the signals for Sidekick are not the best at Gally (well at least for me, they weren't) Well, I wrote to T-Mobile about the problem. Here is what happened:

Wow, I got someone who will listen to our concerns (even though I am hearing). So, I think ever Sidekick owner should invest a lil time so that we all get better signals at Gally.

I am writing this on behalf of all the Deaf users of the T-Mobile sidekick that attend Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Currently, the coverage at the university could be alot better. Deafwireless has installed an antenna on top of one of the dorms for service on the campus. I think it would be a good idea that T-Mobile would do the same on a neighboring dormatory. That way, the university would have excellent coverage for all Sidekick users at the university. Currently, there is no or extremely poor coverage in many of the buildings on campus. I hope that you consider this request. I think it would improve your business from the Deaf Community.

Dear Matthew Mello,
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue may have caused you. T-Mobile coverage maps for each market are only an estimation of coverage - as is stated in your service agreement. As with all other mobile providers in the U.S., T-Mobile does not currently have seamless coverage. We also cannot guarantee coverage when inside buildings. We are aware of the areas not covered and are working to get those areas covered. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide dates or times when areas without coverage will have service.
If you have any other comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for choosing T-Mobile
Sincerely,
T-Mobile USA, Inc.

Thank you for the generic response. Is this going to be looked into or are you going to think that the Deaf community is not important enough to look into this? If deafwireless can do it, I can't see why t-mobile can't do it. So far, thr danger hiptop is turning into the preferred deaf wireless communications device.

Dear Matthew Mello,
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. As a CODA myself, it is understood that the Sidekick is the preferred communication device for Hard of Hearing and Deaf people and the community is valuable to T-Mobile. We are trying to improve features and services to accommodate the needs of the HH/Deaf community. The easiest way to have T-Mobile to improve coverage at Gallaudet University is to have everyone you know that has a T-Mobile account e-mail us stating that there is a coverage issue at the University and we can log a Service issue form. Please provide the following information.
· Exact location with major cross streets
· Time of day
· The number you were attempting to dial from your phone, or the number you were receiving a call from.
· Signal strength on the handset
· Has problem occurred in this area before?
· Has the phone ever worked in this area?
· How long has the problem been occurring?
This information helps us plan where and when to add towers to our system. You probably won't see overnight improvement, but we are listening, and the information you provide us is extremely helpful for future planning.
If you have any other comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for choosing T-Mobile.
Sincerely,
