ASD Teachers Meet with Board
ASD Teachers Meet with Board

After several meetings and a petition with more than one hundred signatures, the joint school board for the Arkansas School for the Blind and School for the Deaf finally hears ASD teachers' concerns about their superintendent, Dr. Marcella Dalla Rosa.

Teachers, parents and alumni have been trying to get the board to listen for several months. Two board members met with them on Tuesday and Wednesday morning. At their meeting Wednesday afternoon, the entire board discussed more than six pages worth of documented concerns about Dr. Dalla Rosa.

The board met in executive session for more than an hour. Once they emerged, they said they are requesting a written response from Dr. Dalla Rosa. Then they will meet with her at their next meeting, said board chairman Pam Hyneman. She said she wouldn't speculate about what could happen then.

Dr. Dalla Rosa was not present at Wednesday's meeting, but she has said she wants to address all concerns.

The majority of ASD teachers and staff voted they have no confidence in Dr. Dalla Rosa. Teacher Jessica Trotter said, "We feel like we are getting closer. We haven't actually achieved our purpose, but together we will."

i cant speechless about that!!

What is the rest of the story Sara?

Why the vote of no confidence? It takes a lot for a majority of teachers to vote no confidence.

yes please provide more information Sara. This isn't exactly crystal clear as what issues the parents and teachers have with Dr. Dalla Rosa.

How did they know she was building a wine cellar in her campus house while the students were living in dorms with mold?
