Are there people like me who doesn't drive yet?

I am afraid to drive because of my best friend car accident in April 2001. I was practicing driving then the day after the accident I heard about it... man I was in tears etc. But it made me even more afraid to drive. I don't want to get in car accidents and die. I want to drive.. believe me! But it's hard to overcome that fear. Sigh! :(
 
Well you're not the only one there. My grandma never drove in her whole life. She rode in publc transportation and rode with me and my parents. She doesn't seem to be interested in driving. She passed away in 1997 when she was 73 years old.

Did your bestfriend died? I understand about your fear...Remmy, It is God's plan for us to born and die..it is His Timing for our lives...no need to live in fear..:hug:

You are not alone...I started driving around age 24...It wasn't because of fear...It was because of timing...I was insecure about myself...didn't have self confidence...I overcomed many things and have good self confidence except for two issues that I am working on...;)
 
No she didn't die.. she is in a vegetable state right now in wheelchair.. she cant talk.. eat etc ya know.. she has to be fed by tubes.. she turned 21 this march.

I understand your fears of driving but remember about 50 million Americans drive to work and go shopping for food, clothes, shoes etc. so that is something you will have to overcome. I will pray for your friend to get better somehow.
 
You could just become like my grandmother... don't drive. ;)

My grandmother has never driven a car in her whole life.

Or... you could be a late bloomer. You could start driving soon. I knew a co-worker who never drove until she was 35 years old, then got her license. Now, she's been driving for a year. :)
 
dont worry i'm 25 and havent drove.. yet.. no license no permit license yet NOTHING!!!!! I"M AFRAID OF DRIVING TOO!!!!!!! my mom didnt learn how to drive until she was 32 year old.. she's 50 now... My boyfriend's grandpa n ever drove.. he died few years ago but you are not the ONLY ONE! i dont drive yet.. but i do want to drive but i get so NERVOUS.. try to break the fears!
 
I aint scared of Driving.I got involved in 2 accidents.Im like an NFL player.I get hurt,Then i rehab,Then i get my ass back in the game.
 
As a daughter of mother who never drive a car all her life is not easy for me.

Im 21 and don't drive.. But when your ready to drive, there will be a right time for you.. There isn't a rush... Just take your time just like me!!
 
Ahh true.. everyone thinks when you are 16, you must drive or something like that?

When all the teenagers turn 16 they think they are all that and need to drive to show off... And in a hurry to try to impress others.. Im perfectly happy where I am.. I got plently of friends and family that can take me places even maybe sometime I might take a taxi! Oh well Im happy for who I am so you should too! :)

I recently took a taxicab and it was $7.00 to get in then each mile it was $2.80

I thought forget it, man. I am taking the bus or the subway and drive my own car when have to once I move back to the big city.
 
i don't drive my parents were not ready when i start to learn and years went pass by until in 1994 my twins cousins were killed in car accident they were 16 years old
that when my fear of driving started

my grandma don't drive all of her life until she passed away in 2001

I have been driving since I was 16 years old. I had only one minor accident. It didn't scare me, because it was just a scratch. Oops. Heh.

I was in a major car accident once, but I was not driving. That accident scared me for a few days, but then I got back on my feet and drove again. No biggie for me. :dunno:

My grandma has never drove in her entire life! :shock: Grandpa had been driving her around. He died from heart attack in 1993, but she is still alive at age 94 now. My mom drives her around after Grandma passed away, until Grandma's in nursing home. Now she doesn't need to get around much. Nursing home does a good work for Grandma. :thumb:
 
I started driving at 16 but did learned drive at 12, which grew up in country. I haven't got into accident and, I surely had many warning from cops from speeds. in same year had 3 speed tickets in 1996, after that, no tickets ever since. Knock woods. Surely did run over raccoons, and birds.
 
Learned how to drive when I was 13.. in a pasture with full of cow manures... lol I got my license when I turned 16.. been driving ever since. I've been in 4 accidents.. nothing major except the last one. I crash more on my ATV! lol
 
I first got lic at the age of 16 but did not have time to drive anywhere from 16 to 18 after graduated high school due too much things to do. Anyway But when I was aprrox 16 and half yrs old I had first bf that whom was 18 at time and got killed by dui in car wreck. I was involved in the real bad accident that killed my first bf. After I was recovered from wreck of being serious injury. I suvived. But I still miss him since he was my first bf. Anyway after the accident I was too scare to drive anywhere until I graudated high school, my dad and grandpa keep telling me to go and drive. Theres always accidents either it can be serious or not. I have been in accidents 4 times since I was 16 yrs old. . I can understand that you are too scare to drive. Also my youngest sister (whom is currently in prison) anyway refused to drive for alot of reasons. She nearly got killed while driving on way to her first job in Texas. Lucky she is alive but she was completely bandaid up all over her. So, theres always risk of driving. I know how u feel.. I mostly feel scare of driving. Cuz of my accidents include other serious accidents all over.
