Approval for Surgery!

Good News!! I received news from the CI team today that my insurance approved my cochlear implant surgery! The OR nurse will contact me coming up Thursday to schedule the surgery. The earliest opening for surgery is Feb. 1st and I was asked to look ahead at my schedule to see if that date works for me....I am all for it! It will be confirmed Thursday if that date will be set. Did any of you CI users have any other appointments besides the Pre-Op prior to surgery?
 
Congratulations!

Assuming this haven't been done yet...you should have a CAT scan coming up.

Congratulations!! :) You must be so excited! (I can still remember how excited I was to receive insurance approval for both of my CIs!)

The only appointments I had before surgery were for a CT scan and pre-op. My pre-op appointment was scheduled a week before surgery.

I'll be happily counting down the days with you until February 1st (which isn't that far off :))!

Thank you, yes I am very excited!! I lost some sleep last night....I just couldn't fall asleep until 4AM due to the excitement! I have already had the CT scan so I guess all I got to do is to wait until the Pre-Op appointment! Feb. 1st is not yet confirmed but I will know for sure Thursday. I will let you know when that day comes. :)

LOL! I know exactly what you're going through! After I was deemed a good CI candidate (first CI), I couldn't get to sleep because all I kept thinking about was activation. :) Oh, how I wished I could accelerate time because everything seemed to move soooo slowly. LOL! In the end, it was certainly worth the wait!

Yes -- do let us know if your surgery date is confirmed. I'll be crossing my fingers that February 1st will be the big day! :)

Im very glad you post in, Hey you didn't tell me your sn in this forum Hehe..

But.. see you can get all info etc.. sharing etc, feeling overwhelming it will but you get all info as much as you can then you will feel so relax after it's done..

Feb 1st is right around the corner,and the day after Lilyl gets hers, and a few days before Frags sons bilateral, and around the same time as Victorias . Man! WE are a bunch of CI freaks!! Oh well, the doctors need to put their kids through college.

Yes....Feb. 1st is right around the corner! I just posted a comment about Lilly on another thread. Saw that surgery was pushed up to the 17th!! Woohoo!! That's even better....LESS waiting time EH? :) I am about to put my message in about what I found out today..... By the way, thanks for the congrats! :)
