Amtrak: All Aboard -- And Bring Your Guns

it gives me a bad taste on my tongue every time when people expected us to get trigger-happy "shoot first, ask later"

Yea, that's the Daredevel taste. How do ya like it?

Don't make me pull out all these articles about people getting shot because they were at the wrong area at the wrong time.

It's naive to think that loose gun control laws will somehow magically make USA a better place. You know whats my opinion? I think restricted and loose gun control does jack squat. I think it doesn't matter at all. I think either case will balance out. There will still be crime whether your neighbors have guns or not.

either way... at least I have a better fighting chance compared to unarmed person.

just because I'm packing a heat doesn't mean I will take a stroll at Camden or Detroit without fear.

Gun control opponents don't care about the statistics; they care about the option of having firearms to defend themselves. Gun control advocates don't care about the option of having firearms to defend themselves; they care about the statistics. I have seen this debate for decades. Nobody changes their minds.
That is why I choose to...

No metal detectors or government goons groping passengers on Amtrak?

This is a serious question; I've never ridden Amtrak.

They do have german shepard dogs sniffing through your luggage and carry-ons for either weapons or drugs. I don't know if this is nationwide, but I went to Austin last October and I took the train there and there were a shitload of these dogs sniffing luggage when I stepped off the train. There are no metal detectors as far as I know...the ones in San Antonio and Austin didn't have any. I've been riding Amtrak for about ten years.

I don't know how he planned to carry out his threat. He was drunk, after all. They were in left-turn lanes, next to each other. The guy yelled a lot of obscenities and stuff in addition to shouting, "I'm going to kill you!"

The light changed, and Hubby turned. The other guy turned, too. The road that Hubby turned onto is a dead end. He pulled into the place where he was going, went into the building, finished his business, and came out. He thought the guy had driven past. No. The guy was sitting in his car in a lower section of the parking lot, waiting.

(We found out later that the guy was in a bad mood because he had already been in an altercation at the gas station before he escaped to the lane next to Hubby.)

I should let him tell the rest of the story.

I will add that Hubby was driving his big work van, so it wasn't easy to make U-turns or other avoidance maneuvers.
UPDATE:

This is the same guy who threatened TCS (Hubby)!

wow.... small world... :eek3:
Now that I know that guy carried a gun it chills me. Before, he was just a drunk with idle threats. Now, I wonder if he could have done something after all. :eek3:
