But generalizing men is ok? I do realize your comment was intended to be light-hearted.

I have a relative that has been fighting cancer for a year. He has never once complained. Just a thought.

Of course I was joking. And fyi, I have cancer right now. Life's too short to take it seriously.

Some . . . how many? A large enough percentage to make the assignments worthwhile?

They should be given the same opportunities as men. If they can't cut it, then they should be sent home. If they pass the tests, then they can join the front lines. Simple. All women deserve the chance if they want to try. Simply dismissing them because of gender isn't fair.

What percentage do you think could pass the physical test?

I don't know - and how would we know if we don't give them a chance?

I think we already know from thousand years of experience. Even Spartan doesn't use woman.

Personally, I'm concerned about a society that wants its women in combat situations, and women who want themselves in combat situations. Sending men to war isn't bad enough?

Alright. I was not being caustic, just defending my fellow testicle owners. :giggle:

I can tell you right now that the women I used to serve with had a struggle just passing the minimum women's standards for PRT. There is no way they would have passed the men's fitness requirements. Those are women that I observed over a 24-year period, not just one small group. Just to make it out of boot camp took a lot of extra work for some.

If we keep hearing about how out of shape this generation is, where do we think the robust combat women will be coming from?

Sorry but... If women are so bent on having women on front line... They better be able to hang with men!

Not every men get to be on the front line! Not every men in the military are on front line. Only those who can handle it and volunteered to be on the front line can be on the front line. So making thing easier just so women can pass the test to make thing more fair is rubbish!

Think about this, what would happen if we allows those with very poor eyes sight to be a sniper? What if we allows someone who cannot handle stress well to be a air traffic controller? What if we allows someone who cannot carry heavy items for long period of time to be a machine gunner (Those guys tend to be huge and bulky so they can carry a heavy gun and tons of ammos)? Or worse... what if we allows someone who are very high strung and cannot stay calm in stressful situation to be in one of the special force?

Well yeah our military would be a clusterfuck! So that's why I think if women want to be on the front line, they HAVE to be able to pass the same exam as men. If they cannot handle it... Tough luck, there are many men who cannot make it on the front line either.

I agree. It has to be the same exams/tests, no modifications. If they can't cut it, then out. But they need the opportunity to try.

there are no ROTC at the 50+ women's college. And NOW and the feminists never applauded or bravo American military women who killed Al Qaeda insurgents and Taliban idiots. Bravo...
