ALLDEAF FORUM - to REGISTER FIRST?

Any of you a visitors have no limited access to the discussion boards except the Picture and Penisarium.

I am aware there are lots of "lurkers" especially sometimes at least 100 guests on the other day, and I start to think it should be open for register-members to respect their privately and so forth.

I am saying this is because I am surprised that nearly lots of other forums won't open UNLESS you register there first except here! I support this idea strongly.

I am interested to know what do you think of it as I am making a poll!
 
Red~Rum, U know what? I have suggested the same thing to VamPyroX before about people from another forum lurking around in here and photocopying threads (for those people they dislike) They seem to dwell on the past and do not know when to let go. It's annoying and immature if you asked me. :o so, I vote Yes.
 
I understand your point there Redrum and do agreed but I believe the reason why it is open to the public so that others can read it and be interesting enough to join this forum and that is another reason why we have new members almost everyday....

If we closed it to the public , we may not have as many new members as what we have now...

And since one of the main search engines like ' Google.com ' brings a lot of curious people checking out Alldeaf, I can understand why it is not so important to have such a registration because it will turn people away....

This number one forum doesn't have to be the same as the others when it comes to registering....

So, I voted ' No '....

Let them, I do not care if my post is moved to their forum, if they want to act like a bunch of immature kids, then be my guest...

At least this forum is more cleaner since we don't go around using names and backstabbed the ones we dislike and we don't allow certain discussions or forum topics about other on-line FORUMS in here....As you can see why I'm still a member here :mrgreen: ( speaking of being mature by comparing to others Forums, I would say Alex has my vote of confidence ;) )

Alex has one of the best forum and he has the respect for others.... :)

I have seen a lot of new members registration and most of them posted in one thread which that is Introduce yourself forum and they haven't post anywhere else. So what does that tell you? If they are so interesting they would have been posting more than just in the Introduce yourself forum.
 
Well - it's hard...but I feel that if you want to post here, REGISTER. If you want to post without registering, too bad.
 
Why would you want to join a website that you have no idea what kind the forums are and, what if it is not the one you want to be member of? If AllDeaf should follow other deaf forums restricting potential members from joining then AllDeaf won't be one of premiere deaf forums it once was. If you want more members joining your forums, then allow them the access is the answer in order to stay one of premiere deaf forums on the Internet.

Alex and his Moderators have done superb job to keep AllDeaf one of premiere deaf forums on the Internet!
 
we get new members nearly DAILY here on AD -- AD is well known now in cyberspace via word of mouth and etc -- there are also SO MANY other forums that are deaf owned or deaf related -- granted AD does get alot of lurkers some areas should (at least IMO) be closed off to the lurkers so they would still get the ability to read some threads in AD before they make a decision to register and when they do so, they would be able to view ALL sections of AD -- but ofc its entirely up to Alex and his mod team

gotta say u do have a point and i agree Brian! but what abt some sections that should be blocked off like i had mentioned in my previous post -- ie: photos threads and etc qq shouldnt they be blocked off to the lurkers for members' safety qq
 
Brian has a great point...and Hes right, how would we know what other forums are like out there when we are unable to see it unless we log in as a member....

I heard stories about one of the forum and how bad it is....when I went to check it out, I wasn't able to see it unless I become a member there, but who would I believe?....so, I checked it out and I couldn't believe what I was seeing... :eek:
 
yea there are ultra bad forums out there :roll: ive seen at least 3 maybe 4 so far and those forum owners i had found are quite immature themselves which leads to a bad forum IMO
 
I think we should not force visitors to register.

I believe they are thinking that alldeaf is best forum but im not braying anything but what i hear some people really pulling some people to get join there so if they decide to register and u know how people is when they found out about register and don't feel to fill it out and just want to simply to get idea and maybe they will fill it out or not..

yea i agree with u.. i noticed that.. if they dont put post that mean someone been nosey if we talk abt behind back or whatever.. u know wht i mean??? never know that someone can copy n paste in other forum.. who know!!!

i think other people CAN"T copy what alldeaf have, if they do, ALex will have something to do with them cuz it's agianst the law to stealing the ideas, but i don't know if it a law... it's same idea that you can't copy movies on the vcr cuz it's against a law..

oh well, my friend told me that someone did copy n paste to other forum what they say in here... and fun of someone..

like what? like the alldeaf? Im sure all forums have little same of this, but more likey like this, i think it's okay cuz maybe they don't have other choice but they can't copy extactly what aders have.. understand what im saying
 
it CAN happen CoolieFroggie -- there are ppl would would refer others to a thread on ANY forum not necessarily mean only on AD

seee what Fly Free say!!! it can happen.. no matter, they can copy n paste and put in other forum... someone busted there...
