Airport Security Manager Banned from Tanning Salons
Airport Security Manager Banned from Tanning Salons | FOX8.com

ELYRIA, Ohio — The security manager at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has pleaded no contest to charges of telephone harassment and public indecency.

Last month, North Ridgeville police arrested John Dialinos, 45, of North Ridgeville. Investigators say he was using a prepaid cell phone to harass local tanning salons.

Salon workers told police the calls would start out like a regular business call.

“A male would call and start asking legitimate questions,” said Lt. Greg Petek. “What are the store hours, what kind of packages do they offer and after he would start asking lewd questions.”

In December, police set up a trace on the tanning salon phone lines. They soon learned it was a pre-paid cellular phone that was used to make the calls, and that the caller was near the salon when the call was made.

“It was apparent to us that the subject that was making the phone calls was masking or trying to cover up any detection from law enforcement,” Petek said.

Police say he also made calls Tan City, and one to Tru Tan.

After pleading no contest to the charges, Dialinos was found guilty. He will serve 10 days behind bars at the Lorain Correctional Facility as well as 90 days of house arrest. Dialinos must also stay 500 feet away from any tanning salon for the next five years.

Airport officials say Dialinos has been on unpaid leave since August 30th. He managed the security office and made sure the airport is in compliance with security regulations.
