ADers on a Diet Support Thread

Lean Cuisines are great for lunches and dinners. Any of the Entree type meals that are under 340 calories are nice.. Any NON starchy veggies eat as much as you like a day and try to keep your carbs down and fruit intake down, a lot of fruit has natural sugars that are not all good for you. =)

Read the ingredients on back of Lean Cuisines… it will make you put it down and walk away from it. and never buy it again…

I gave up bolding them… too many to bold the words.. they all are offensive! and not Paleo friendly… that's why I don't buy Lean Cuisine at all and I don't buy any of frozen meals anymore! I used to buy Hungry Man brands last year… This year… no more because I switched to Paleo Lifestyle and I have gone back to cooking which I loved to…. Just meats, vegetables, fruits and nuts. no added sugars. no processed foods no sugary drinks/juices.

Boult I would never eat either of those two. But these are used to portion meals and I was eating these for lunch and dinner every day, its a WHOLE meal... Counting Carbs, Fat grams, sugars and calories.. In meals you will have some of everything you listed. I ate these for a month almost every day for lunch and dinner and lost the 15.5 lbs.. But you cant just eat things and not work at it, you have to eat the right amounts of things and you have to make sure you drink water, A LOT OF WATER...

p.s. Hungry Man is a little different than the Lean Cuisine. But I wont argue, you choose to eat things without other things added and I dont mind so much as long as it is working...

yeah, my understanding is that only the dark chocolate <70% or more> has beneficial effects. Milk or "white" chocolate is not it. Unless that's changed?

Seems MIL just does not understand that I am trying to help myself and my family lose weight and get healthier. I had planned quinoa with sauteed peppers, celery and broccoli and almond crusted soy/ginger tofu strips. Well, She wants me to fix the Bahamian conch fritters and the Bahamian rice that her friends brought over. There is a TON of this rice and she wants it out of the freezer, so I have to cook it. Also, she likes the conch fritters better when I do them. She tends to burn them in a skillet, and I deep fry them in peanut oil in my Fry Daddy Jr. Problem is, daughter and I are not crazy about the fritters and for me, they make me sick. Daughter also does not like the rice. At least this is only a once every other month meal. MIL gets mail for this family delivered here at her house and all the UPS and FedEx deliveries are made here. Most of the mail is for bills for their home here in Florida and the packages would have higher postage rates to go to the Bahamas. The food is the "thank-you" MIL gets. Hubby has already told the family that we will not be able to keep it up after MIL is gone.

So, it will be a fatty meal tonight and back onto our healthy eating tomorrow night.

Dark chocolate is more beneficial because it has a higher content of chocolate and lower content of sugar.

I do so good today!!!

Pineapple breakfast
Lean pocket and grapes lunch
Handful popcorn snack

Had a good start, but due to MIL fell off the good road. We had:

Oatmeal with mixed berries for breakfast.
Vegetable noodle soup for lunch and I had crispy toast with roasted garlic hummus with it.
Dinner was McDonald's as MIL had me cook the Bahamian conch fritters and the Bahamian rice. Really fattening stuff.

Oh. I end bad. I go potluck dinner party. Drink my weight rum. Eat chili, garlic toast, white chocolate raspberry square. Very bad.

The best way to lose weight is to cut out processed food and add fruit. Also, instead of counting all the calories, which turns into too much work, you need to look at pre-made meals that are low fat. Take a look at Eating for Life cookbook by Bill Phillips(only the cook book) or the Mario Lopez cookbook because they already have meals put together.

There are no foods you do not eat, but you don't eat all types of foods. For example, top round steak instead of t-bone, whole wheat pasta instead of white, reduced fat wheat thins instead of Doritos and whole wheat bread instead of white bread.

You should be able to lose 30lbs in three months with the shakes or 30lbs in four months without the shakes. I've done both and found you don't have to buy protein shakes to lose weight. In fact, I think it is better that you don't use the shakes, but it does take longer.

As for exercise, five days a week, you should do 20 minutes (no more) of cardio of your choice every other day and weights, 40 minutes(no more), every other day, take weekends off.

It's actually pretty simple and ANYONE can do this. The problem with dieting is the disinformation out there is staggering. This is because nobody actually wants you to lose weight, they want you to become addicted to their products.

Basically, if you don't eat fat food you don't get fat. Healthy food doesn't turn into fat because nobody can change something into something else. You can't change iron into gold, it doesn't work that way.
