What kind of acne treatment you're using?

I'm having problem with facial acne on and off for a couple of years. Well, thank god it's not serious. I've struggled for years to find right solution product for treatment my skin. I've gone through from oxy, neutrogena, noxema, a med from dermaologist (I think it was Differin), clean&clear, and a couple more I can't even remember! I figured that I'm kinda allegric to benzoyl peroxide, it killed my skin immediately!
I'm currently using Proactiv for almost 2 years now. It's a lot better but doesn't change dramatically. I'm trying to find a better and hopefully a little cheaper product to use. I just learned a little about ZenMed. Anyone tried it? Is there any kind of treatment you know of that is most popular and best solution ever?
Thanks!

when i was a kid i went to the dermatolgist cuz everytime i put meds on they zits come back so fast so we went thru the vacumm cleaning methods now its all fine just have to watch out for the blackheads that's it ....

Oh yea, I rejected the recommendation because I don't feel that b.c. is safe for me.
Derm. gave me a mediciation, I don't remember what kind. So, I tried it.... then next morning, I got freaked out after looking at myself at the mirror. I looked like a 60 years old woman, my face was all dried up, wrinkled and so white!!!! I had to skip school on that day! :-x lol

I was reading in a forum that a guy with serious acne problem. He tried out chorolox (sp?) and he was all burning up badly, skins were popping out, and peeling. Next day he had to see a doc and doc said that he'll have perament scars, he's getting special med for preventing infection. Dang what an idiot! :laugh2:

maybe you should try laser???

I love oil of olay face cloth....I take it everywhere with me.....

my friends swear by proactive, clinque 3 steps treatment and shisedio cleansing foam.......

its all about testing to find the right one for you

I love clinique's concealing acne treatment... just cover the blemish and its tinted so it HIDES it...... I am glad I am not from the generation where people used to hide it under a band aid

It's true -- B.C. does help alleviate acne. My step daughter is on B.C. and she's 13 and has bad acne, but it's cleared up quite well since she started on B.C.
I reckon it won't hurt to give it a try. :)

I have some friends who have acne problems and BC helps them a lot. Why don't you want to try it? Trying to get yourself pregnant? :naughty: I've heard that another side effect of BC is fuller breasts and asses. Could be a big plus for yourself and your guy... :naughty:

E, was the medicine you took by any chance accutane? I've heard its extremely drying but works extremely well on severe cases of acne. The pill helps regulate breakouts but if that's not an option, ask about an antibiotic that won't wreck havoc on your face. It sounds as if you've tried all the topical otc stuff, try regulating the amount of sugar you consume. There's a recent study out there that shows some tribes from another country that ate only proteins/veggies were blemish-free.

in the past, I have tried everything just like what u did ... and I just discover myself that i am allergry to any soap for my faces so i decided to use rag and wash my face to get oil off and it work so well.. and less acnes ! whew !!! maybe u might try without soap and use rag to wash ur face and see what happen ... or try not eat too much choclate or any sweet or grease that would cause more acnes .. so Think about it ... just try test everything to see what does it affect u or not ..

heh my ance problems went away i never used meds just use noxema for washing.. but I never use med afterwards cuz it wud give me problems but I usually get few pimples tellin me when I'm due for stupid period  but the worst ance problems I had when I was 17 so that's why I wore too much make-up to cover up  now nah.. I don't use any cuz waste of time to do that even tho today is my day off from work. so I only wear lipstick right java and stephy?

my worsest experience with pimples is that I got three pimples on my butt during High school... I hateeeee that ... I had to be patience when i was trying to be comfortable on the chair and listen to that idoit teacher in the classroom... and i got up and someone look at me like funny expression with puzzled and ask me if i am ok ?? i say yeah why ?? u act like so uncomfort with that chair i never seen u move round too much as u just distract me ... I said sorry what can i do about it ?? then they just figure out why is that and ask me if it is pimple on butt ?? i said shit how do u figure out ??? they said they knew that i wasn't from infarmity (sp?) to get shot or something like that... I was gasp and yeah it is .. then they laugh and understood ...

It's really weird after I've tried several treatments from pharmacy stores, most of them dried up my skin cuz of benzoyl peroxide, and some helped to reduce acne. But with Proactiv, it has b.p. ( I don't know how much was it. But here's how I describe how powerful was it-- it bleached most of my towels, shirts and carpet! ) Anyway, it's funny that Proactiv products never dry my skin and yes I think Proactiv is the best treatment ever I've been using. It's popular right now. There are three products to use, first one to wash off your face, second to apply liquid, then thirdly apply b.p. lotion. I think that's the reason the lotion helped to prevent from drying my skin. And I'm sure it's accutane.

Another thing I've attempted to reduce acne without treatment. At night time, I tried to sleep face foward, to avoid my face on the pillow. And changing pillow case almost weekly, both actually worked! Of course not a big change but it actually helped a little. You have a lot of dirt and oil greasing on your pillow from skin and hair, and I'm sure that's one of many reasons where you get zits from.

Mm, I'll try my best to eat healthier foods and less sugar/sweet stuffs. That'll be hard thing to do b/c there are a lot of sweet foods at my job and I had to eat 'em! :-/ .yum.

Don't act so shocked... she was sexually active by the age of 13 so her mom put her on BC.
