Aaa

I am with Progressive......

I set my deductible high ($1000) and save alot. $750 really doesn't go very far in body repair and chances are that amount of damage wouldn't be worth filing a claim for anyway. I suggest setting the deductible high and putting the savings in an insurance/extended warranty savings account.

I'm considering raising my deductible from $250 to $1,000. My Jeep's value is only $830, so if it gets totaled I obviously won't get enough to replace it anyway.

How will someone afford to pay deductible if someone doesn't make money? I think lower deductible is better for people with tight budgets or don't get extra money. It's the offset on other. Suppose you lost control of your car and you end up paying $1,000 and where would you get $1,000 out of the pocket? $250 is more reasonable and won't break your bank or credit card that much.

It's all about the person and the math.

Nope. $115 per month for 12 month ($1380/year), not $115 per 12 month. :laugh2: I wish!

I mean $115 "per month" for 1 yr.. pfftt! also, I got arrested for DUI during deaf new year eve party back to 1990's. My insurance was $2,000 year.:D

the lower deductible is, the more expensive your insurance is. that's why they drive carefully. our deductible is at $1,000.

Wirelessly posted (Samsung Epix (i907))

Aaa insurance on the other hand is overpriced. I got quotes higher than what i get. I dont want to pay for membership to get discounts. Im not a heavy traveler and rather pay few bucks for roadside assistance coverage.

get Progressive + Snapshot Program. It claims that you will save up to 30% if you opt for Snapshot program.

w.......o.........w......... you're complaining about $115 for 12 months? I wish I can complain like that because it costs around $600+ in here. My motorcycle is about $220 a year - full comprehensive coverage.

Mine is about $724 for a 6 months policy here in NJ.

yeah, i was 21 yrs old and so young partyhead and involved with my deaf idiots friends.

Judge gave me a punishment and send me to AA program. I met alot deaf junkies and i'm only one drunk driver.. grr

$2,000 per year for five years limit and then go back clean record as i learn some lessons... grrr!

I'm currently with Progressive and pay $156 a month for my Bimmer. It's cheaper than Geico and AllState, I know that. Not sure about the others. Will look into AAA someday.

I have that progressive insurance for my 2010 Toyota Corolla.

That's why different options are available. You pick the one that fits your situation the best.

yep. many people simply picked the "package" without even spending their time to analyze every single item. I spent about 2+ hours to educate myself on each type of coverage :dizzy:

now I believe I'm the armchair expert on car insurance policy

Absolutely !!

Even though I "only" pay $54 (I said that in quotes because it seems like a good rate to me! ) per month, I could pay even less if I opted for a higher deductible. Frankly, I like the $250 deductible -- I don't want to think about getting into an accident and having to pay out a $1,000 deductible when I have other bills I may need to pay that with. This was for my comfort level. Others may not see it as smart as that difference in rate could be "saved" or "invested", but for me, comfort level wins. :)

Yeah, that's why I drive carefully most of the time. It's all I can afford, too. I would prefer shell out $250 instead of $1,000 or even $500 due to my income restrictions at the moment.

Your rate is super low....I would stick with $250 too if I had that rate. People with higher rates though can save a bundle just by changing a few things.

I feel fortunate to have that low rate. When I had State Farm it wasn't that much higher. But my folks bought a new car just weeks before I bought mine, and their previous car was 5 years old, and the new car they bought was even more expensive, and they saw only a $5 increase in their rates. So when I heard that, I had Dad call them to see what rate they'd give me, and I got the $54. I took it !! :)

Whew, I was not the only one. I used paid $1,200 a month for few years when i was very young due I got over ten speed tickets from Chicago. I drove a lot like almost 100 miles a day for school, job, 2nd job, and friends. One time, I got almost $500 fined for 100mph in 65mph from WI. It was happen almost six years ago. So I don't get speed tickets for almost two years. I feels so great. I never do drink and drive before. I always ask friends to stay over first before I drink.
