Aaa

You might want to take a look at Progressive insurance and opt for "Snapshot" program which can get you up to 30% discount if you're a "good driver".

Of course, all our rates are apples-to-oranges for comparison if the coverage isn't the same.

I love AAA membership.

You live in CA. Have you heard of the local insurance company called Wawanesa?

It's a bit strict and limited, but affordable.

I pay a grand total of $54 per month. I have AIG. I have full coverage and I have a brand-new 2010 Honda. I have a totally clean driving record, only 1 ticket in my lifetime and that was 23 years ago. There's no household discount (multi-car or homeowners coverage as I have that through State Farm).

That would be $648 per year.

I beat you--driving 37 years, no tickets ever. :giggle:

$54/month? :eek3:

I'm assuming you've been with AIG for many years?

Since I bought the car in July. Prior to that I had State Farm (along with the homeowner's coverage) but I got a better price for the auto insurance through AIG, so I separated them out at that time.

$54 for 6 months or 9 months? Sound like no add comprehensive (if your car has been fire. Insurance won't cover fire damage without comprehensive)

My AAA is $700 yearly with comprehensive for my Mazda RX-7 sport car.

$54 a month.

It is a brand-new car.

Full coverage.

Fact of the matter is, rates vary. By state, age of driver, driving record, age of vehicle, type of vehicle, discounts (if any, such as multi-car discounts, adding to homeowner's policy, etc.). $54 is what I pay for full comprehensive and collision with a $250 deductible. Free towing, free glass replacement. Could be that because I've had a perfect driving record and no accidents could be what's keeping my rates low.

hubby says he is paying $74 a month for both of us. of course I need to go back to him and make sure I hear him right (I've already asked him twice)

This is just for two vehicles. -- Full coverage too (not liability coverage)

I have an older car, so maybe that's why it is less. Also, we have multiple vehicles, and our house with State Farm. I think married people also get a lower rate.

I could get insurance even cheaper if I didn't have full coverage and towing, and if I kept my Jeep in the garage. South Carolina has high insurance rates, statewide.

Same here about house, multiple, and married. My 2002 Mazda is only $492 per year under State farm

My original State Farm cost was $90 in June, and I had no idea I had a speeding ticket in 2009, and then they increased from $90 to $110 because of that. I called DMV in DC, MD, VA to find out, and all three of them said I have a clean record. State Farm said it is on the computer, and won't change until DMV clear them all. I called DMV again and they said they are not on the computer. I asked State Farm again to see which state I got ticketed, they said "outside state", not say which state. My rate is $110. My State Farm sent me another bill cost me $145.00 due to change zip code. I live in very nice area, including underground parking with security gate. I gave up, and switched to AAA today. They cost me $115/month for 12 month, I'm all good. One thing I was like wtf about AAA, because you have to be AAA membership ($54) in order to join AAA insurance, but I know AAA do provide good membership service since I'll travel a lot in West Coast in 2011.

$115 for 1 yr? oh, shit.. last year, camera on pole caught me as traffic violence and then, i received a letter for proof of photo of my car and my face. Fined me $275. Grrr! (I failed to stop signal light and I turned on right and zoom away as show off racing)...

I was upset. I thought my insurance rate might raise and plus go to traffic school but.. one year later, I received a letter from AAA for renewal insurance policy. I read "good driver" as i said like wtf.. i found out that camera on pole came from Arizona state. not in California... Whew!! I'm relief! no raise insurance rate. and...

I received a letter from DMV. I laughed so hard.

Its very convient, has online support for coverage changes and has quick roadside assistance. It varies on what you drive, the location, etc. I have no issues with them.

Aaa insurance on the other hand is overpriced. I got quotes higher than what i get. I dont want to pay for membership to get discounts. Im not a heavy traveler and rather pay few bucks for roadside assistance coverage.
