almost springtime... and i know like 80% of people tend to do spring cleaning around that time

so.. im asking HOW u do spring cleaning? for example i remember seeing how my mom used to do this way... she put everything thats goes to goodwill in one box, for garage sale in another box, old clothes to give to other kids at my school in another box then she takes everything out of one room do the walls and floors then putting it back in right place.. and go into other room.. it usually takes her like 5 days to do that... theres no way i can do that myself wayy too busy for that... so im curious if any of u do that differently (who knows... maybe one of your method of spring cleaning is actually fitting for me)

so.. how do u do your spring cleaning?

also if theres any recommendations on what to use for cleaning please say so.

what i do is get bags for the clothes and get them in there and put it in my truck, then all the trash goes into my dad's 1/2 ton truck for the dump, then after that we do SERIOUS cleaning of the roof ( its wood ceiling) with the wood oil finisher to protect the intergity of the wood and keep them from cracking or splintering, then we deep clean the kitchen under the fridge, behind the stove and also the microwave cabinet gets moved to clean under there but 90 percent of the time gets sucked in the vaccum so we have less to worry abt, then we fresh paint the lanais ( we did that earlier but will refresh the front again the painters messed that up RMFE) then we clean the carport out, we did the winter cleaning already cuz we knew we would be getting more things for the holidays so we went and cleared out under the house for that. then we deep clean the closets we have little left to go on that due to rain we been getting had to hold it off we're going to make a crate storage for the portaits we have. so we can store those to protect the humidity. then after doing those we will add the lanai in front of my room to make a new french doors we have word now with confirmation that another x mas party this yr is held here again so we're going to tackle those before my family comes from california visiting. so they can see the new improved house. still have some renovations but the main spring cleaning will happen end of march mid april so those can be out of the way! i got my room done already finally! but need to do the rest of the house to maintain less clutter in the house. :)

time total we take our times doing this, BUT, the MOST important stuff takes 2 days to do it...

for the floors we use standard water and soap to deep clean the grout and then clean behind the desk ( we already home improved on the kitchen which is painted with forrest green wall and new crown molding on the celing. next will add one more fan to center it in the kitchen and use that for the kitchen only so we can kill the light where its at currently.

we're working on figuring the fan areas we're still debating the electrical areas in the living room and both my room and guest room due to lack of lighting here.

so we got a while before we're done with EVERYTHING.

BTW its not a stupid question everyone has thier own methods of cleaning u did good with asking us the questions :)

I hire one of the neighborhood girls to do spring cleaning. Some years I do it myself. It depends....

I do spring cleaning almost like your mom, SpiceHD. In fact I get rid of all the clothes that's no longer fit my boys, I either give them to my hearing sister, nor send them to Salvation Army. Get rid of other junk such as sheets, blankets, toys, old furniture if needed and other stuff. And take out summer clothes out of the attic to put in the boys drawers to get ready for summer time. Usually takes me a several days to get all spring cleaning done before summer began. It's a lot of work of course. I rather to get rid of it than blowing it all off until next year, because that would give me more work to do! :giggle:

My twin sister gives me all her 6 years old boys clothes to Jordan. I love when she donated them to me. It saves me $$!

I donated my clothes to the Salvation Army or throw it in the Bin, provided by charities to pick it up.

My daughters give away their clothes to their school friends!!

I only work in the kitchen, washing clothes, shopping, and of course a taxi driver to my girls, as it is, as I hiring a deaf cleaner to come to my house to do this job weekly as I don't like cleaning the house!!

when spring coming, i always clean, put in bags and give goodwill or yard sale something alike that.. so clean deep.. right now i live new apt. i dont worry abt it cuz of i cleaned at old apt before i moved here..

Incoming up way to have spring cleaning real soon...
Let's see.... er um... Pretty awful lot work do clean the wall and everything insure that fresh smell... All I want do it again.. and also unload some of winter clothes to check to see too small.. Ready for Giving away to Salvation Army....

Will have prepare other stuffs will goes to Garage Sale.. :)
(will put it up storage at upstair (attic) when summer is ready...

I don't know what I would do... I'm still living in the dorms. If I had my own place off campus, I'd start with cleaning up the kitchen, living room, bedroom(s), bathroom, and closet. Next, I'd do the trash. After that, I'd dust everything. Finally, I'd vacuum.

I had a garage sale before, It didn't turn out as good, One lady wanted the crib and I said 5.00 for it, She told me she didn't have 5.00 and I felt bad so I sold it to her for only $1.00. Some people don't do that, that's why I decide not to sell my things it makes me look greedy, I rather them to have it for free than giving me money for it. So I change my mind and decide to donate to Salvation Army instead. :thumb:

You also can get rid of your stuff and post it on www.craigslist.org It's free classifieds and lot of people will want to buy or pick up your stuff that you don't need. It is a great "recycling" web site. I check good stuff on that site sometimes once in a while.
