If you voted for Bush, didn't vote, or voted no on gay marriage, I hope you get drafted.
I hope they stick you in my unit, and you go with me to Iraq when my unit goes back in September. I will laugh when you see what soldiers in that country face on a daily basis. I hope you work with gay soldiers too. I did. One of them saved my life. Think he shouldn't have the right to get married? Fuck you. He fought just as hard as I did and on most days, did his job better than me. Don't tell me gays don't have the same rights you do.
Think the war in Iraq is a good thing? I'll donate my M-16 to you and you can go in my place.
Feeling dizzy?

wow. He is very blunt. Far more blunt than I ever will be. However I heard same thing like that from some units who were saved by one gay soldier and it was quite impressive. I couldn't find the article because that was like 6 months ago or something.

Let you know he's Libertarian...and a Atheist.

That's just one guy. 4 out of 5 support their Commander in Chief. He said, ".......hope you get drafted and........" News to me that we have a draft.

I understand the guy's anger -- not blame him at all. I'd probably be like that if I were in his shoes.

Yes, most servicemembers support President Bush.

I don't argue with anyone's anger from grief. When someone has experienced a terrible loss of a loved one, I respect their emotions. I might not agree with their conclusions, but they have the right to experience their own feelings, especially resulting from combat situations. Those raw wounds need time to heal.

No, we do not have a draft.

back in the 40s-50s-60s we did have a draft.... please check again on history reba.

and we may have a draft again cuz less men and women are enlisting due to those who are against the war.

 You are funny JP. Reba is using present tense of don't. Yes you are correct. We did have draft during the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. So far Bush has not called for draft. Bush is hoping that our allies will contribute some of their troops to Iraq since we are running out of volunteer troops since the rebels are hard to control in Iraq. I think Bush will withdraw our troops from Iraq after Iraqi elections in early 2005.

Thanks for clarifying my statement. :)

Of course we used to have the draft, as you stated (and including Korean war). In fact, my hubby was drafted during the Vietnam War, so there is no way I forgot about the draft!

There is no draft now, today, presently.

On contrary, that is entirely untrue. reporters from Guardian interviewed with many soldiers and promised them that it is 'off-record' (which means will not write down in any articles) and larger percent of them told the journalist that they are afraid to tell the truth about Cheney & Bush. Media Info's reporter stated that they are afraid to tell Bush & Cheney the truth.

That says all.

And draft is quite old, many of free-thinking people already know that there will be a draft. I made a topic about it in News forum a while ago.

You are absolutely correct, most soldiers are in total disagreement with Bush's policies and the war.
Tousi says four out of five are in support, without backing up his statement.
So now I will say four out of five are against.
Tit for tat.
