A defeat for WOMENS RIGHTS!!!

This is why I don't agree with the ACLU. They used to be a good organization who did good things. Seems over the past few years they have developed an agenda and have turned down cases that needed to be heard. They have also taken unecessary cases.

What was his original case that caused him to dress like a woman on Mortons show. I know he said he was losing rights to women, but what was that all about?
I unfortunately agree with you. ACLU used to be good but with latest events, they didn't... but at least they will fight for people concerning about Social Security and Vote suppression & irregularities. ACLU acts weird with one specific agenda that made me scratch my head..

ravensteve, take your trolling elsewhere. Wearing a dress to work to PROVOKE a response from management is offensive and disruptive to the workplace. That is reasonable grounds for employment termination.

The woman who was fired for "not wearing a dress and being sexy in the workplace" was not fired for disrupting the workplace, she was being sexually discriminated against by a manager. That manager would not have demanded a male worker to "dress sexy" in a male way for the job. When you threaten someone's job based on their gender, THAT becomes grounds for a lawsuit.

They are not the same kind of issue. I bet even you can see that, and has NOTHING to do with politics. Cut the trolling.
:gpost:

Yep. That's why I didn't bother to post my thought-provoking comment in this topic.

I've bolded the above. I disagree with that statement.

Freedom of speech does not mean that you are allowed to make false, inflammatory, or misleading statements. ravensteve has made, to my perception, many posts with the sole purpose of getting people riled up. That is the very definition of a troll. Right or wrong, it's still inflammatory.

It will be entirely up to Alex to decide what is allowed on AllDeaf, but where I come from, blatantly racist, sexist, or bigoted posters are banned without question. All they do is rile up the posting population. Trolling with substance is still trolling. Trolls do not bother to explain their viewpoint beyond a general, "they're right and you're wrong" and thus discussion is moot.

AllDeaf has allowed everyone great latitude on what we're allowed to talk about. People who read and contribute without trolling won't continue to post if people continue to troll.

Actually, these women look like professional terps. I own several black suits for terp work.

I didnt know that you as terp. must wear like this.

Most terp. here dont wear like this. They wear anything what they wants. I accept what they are because it´s them. I would not demand them to wear nicely for me but themselves but at court or job interviews is a different story.

Like you would be a CEO of a major company

on a serious note, if you forced your secretary to dress like this, suppose they were male? I sure wouldn't want to see a male secretary wearing a dress when i'm doing business NO offense to the crossdressers, its just a point i'm trying to bring across

So he decided to wear a dress to work to chalenge the system. He was fired by his female supervisor. So he ran to the ACLU and they rejected his case.
That's why this wasn't a legimitate case ....it was about a guy delibratly getting his jollies. Had he reguarly worn a dress to work and been discrimanted against because of that, then the ACLU would have probaly done something. Thank you Dennis! You hit the nail on the head!
Looks like there are so many organizations/groups
for women's rights, but I admit that
I never see anything like this for men's rights.
Ummm....women's rights? Men's rights? Women ARE fighting for men's rights....to live in world free of gender role stereotypes. That is what the basic message of feminism is about.....gender roles are dumb and limiting, and it would make more sense to live in a gender free society.

Terps are supposed to wear clothing that is an easy contrast with the color of their skin, and not confusing for the eyes. That means, white terps wear black, navy blue, dark green, dark burgandy, dark gray. Black terps wear cream, pastels, beige. Terp clothes can't have stripes, flowers, polka dots, plaids, or any kind of "busy" pattern. Subtle patterns are OK. No long earrings, no bright nail polish, no bracelets or watches, only simple rings (not on every finger), no shiny fabrics, no visible tatoos, no long hair bangs, no bushy mustaches or beards, and no turtleneck sweaters. Nothing "distracting" is allowed. Also, terps have to be careful not to have anything too loose on their shirts, like loops or baggy pockets, because you can get "hung up" in them (it has happened to me). We have to be careful with our glasses, too. Sometimes they go into orbit with certain signs, ha, ha.

I usually wear long skirts or slacks while terping because I am either standing on a platform or sitting at the front of a room facing the audience or class. I don't want to offer any "free shows", if you know what I mean. My other preference is no sleeveless tops. I don't want people to see my upper arms flapping in the breeze while signing.

Of course, terps have to dress appropriate to the setting. That is, formal for church, court, and business meetings, or casual for sports events or industrial work places. At the college, I usually dress similar to the instructors.

The Deaf clients do not demand that. That is just what is normal professional appearance for terps. If a terp doesn't dress appropriately, then the clients can complain, and the boss will have a "talk" with the terp.

A few of our Deaf clients also have low vision, so we have to be even more careful about what we wear for them.

If you saw my clothes closet you would think I go to a lot of funerals, ha, ha.

Exactly. This would make sense to live in a
"gender free society" I'm sure that laws usually
change and improve for the better in the future !
This is NOT that easy how to make this happen overnite.

Wow, I love your attitude being caring & considered of others.
I wish you are my interpreter....
You made me laugh about "funerals" and/or maybe
others might think that you're being Gothic wannabe :)

:jaw: wow interesting! funerals LOL!

Its up to terps whatever they want to wear, including ear pierce, nail polish, hair style, etc. We would lose terps if we kept on compaint about them all the time. (We need terps badly since we have few terps in Bavaria where we live) Terps here wear anything what they wants because it´s them, we learn to accept as they are also accept what I am, too.

Honestly, terps´s taste of clothes doesnt bother me because I accept what they are.

TTT,

To be honest, it seem to me you love stiring up trouble or caused if that the case, please do it elsewhere, cause your posts is annoying the hell out of me.....

TTT is 75% right. 25% Wrong,,Republicans are not the ones causing trouble its you liberals, Why you think liberals like senator harry reid who used racial remarks on clarance thomas and he isnt forced to withdraw his nomination for senate minority leader. 2 years ago when republican trent lott was forced to resign as senate majority leader on his racial remarks on strom trumonds 100th birthday party. How come Nixon was forced to resign from watergate but bill clinton wasnt forced to resign when he was impeached huh?? Bill Clinton & Richard Nixon both abused their use of powers and both lied under oath and it was nixon who had to pay a price but bill clinton used his whole 8 years in office. And how come is it ok for west virgina senator robert bird allowed to stay in senate after he called someone a white NI***R ? How come its it ok for democrats to do things wrong and republicans cant?? Explain those to me??? THATS WHY DEMOCRATS LOST THE ELECTION.If you think hillary is gonna become president HUH!!! Thats a laugh ...

Well it is true I was stirring up trouble.

But I was trying to explain myself to why Love is not important.
But people here were all over me first.

I didn't intentionally stir up trouble....
I just came here to post what I think.

And everybody were giving me hard time...
Argueing me...
They could have say, LOVE IS IMPORTANT, and be gone.
Just leave it as that. But noooooo.... they go on and on and on....
Won't stop until I change my mind...

And when I said no no no no and no....

Then they get upset, and felt they fail their mission to
change my mind about that.

And then MODs removed or closed my thread.
Love is important. Without love, we could not exist on this earth at all. It is the law (or God's law). That's my opinion. I didn't tell you that you are wrong about 'love is not important'. I hope it will be clear enough for you to acknowledge the fact that I didn't say that.

And... I believe I do speak for others that they didn't try to change your mind... I don't know why you got that idea that people want to change your mind. They actually encourage you that there is always hope and love for you. Always. Again, it is the law (or God's love).

From my real experience... being negative about yourself will not help anything. Break the negative cycle and move on. No matter what you are... no matter who you are... You are you. Only you who can change or shape your future, your fate and your life, not us. Everyone have the power to change themselves into better person or whatever they want to be. All you need to look inside of you and use it. Keep that in your mind.

You can start by wake up every morning and walk outside to get a look at beautiful sunrise... Be grateful that sun is always there for you every morning. From there, you can start and develop your posititve attitude and mental about yourself and everything else.

Again, no matter what you are... no matter who you are, stop being negative and break the negative cycle and move on.

Edit: I believe I made a point for you, TTT. No need for me to say any more about love and negative issues from now.
