Happy 4th of July!

Here are some interesting facts that I found related to the 4th of July...

- Only 2 people signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th.

- In 2004, $5.2 million worth of American flags and $172 million worth of fireworks were sold in the United States... 92% of those flags and 95% of those fireworks were made in China.

- Feeling patriotic? Go visit Independence, Missouri... Freedom, California... or Patriot, Indiana.

- Independence Day is officially 67 years old.

- Betsy Ross did not design the first American flag.

- The "Star-Spangled Banner", our national anthem, does not contain "America" in it.

- The United States Flag is considered a living thing. (U.S. Code: Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8-j.)

Interesting.... interesting... :hmm: I shall take over the american soil then

The first Independence day was celebrated July 4, 1777. And has been celebrated yearly. It became a legal government holiday 67 years ago, in 1941.
