    Magazine for the Deaf

Hello. The publisher, Matthew Moore, plans to resurrect Deaf Life. He remarked about this on his website. Silent News, DeafNation, NewsWaves, etc. all fell by the wayside, as far as I know. I'll be happily wrong if any of these magazines are still publishing and are still going strong...

I am planning to get a

Dude- Dell computers are nice. I myself got a Compaq Presario notebook computer. It's pretty nice but it isn't a top-notch system. Macintosh PowerBooks are very nice and if I had a lot of disposable income, I'll be getting the 17" PowerBook model. :) Enjoy.

    Do you work out?

Hello. Back in high school, I wasn't that athletic. I did join the football team for one year and I was a substitute, collecting wood splinters on the bench. :) It was fun, though. Now, I'm running just 1/2 a mile a day, trying to lose some weight. So far, my weight hasn't budged a little...

is there ever a deaf superhero?

Hello. The closest superhero I can think of is 'Jericho' of the Teen Titans in the DC Universe. George Perez, an artist, introduced this character and he used sign language. This character could hear but wasn't able to talk. Does using sign language count? :) Enjoy.

Do u consider urself a Deaf Militant or not q

Hello. Being a Deaf militant sounds pretty extreme. It sounds like a person is so intensely focused on his status as a Deaf person and does not even consider other viewpoints or realities. I myself prefer to think of myself as an 'educator'. A lot of people have little understanding of...

    Marvel vs DC

Hello. From reading this thread, I'm glad I got out of the comic biz long time ago. I guess I've got a life. :) Now, if eBay was easy to deal with, I'd be unloading my comic book collection... Enjoy.

    Found this article...258

Hello. Thank you for the informative article. I hope that messaging services and pagers will continue for a long time as the Deaf community needs such services. Oftentimes, I have seen Deaf persons having their messaging services cancelled and 1/2 year contracts rescinded with Wyndtell...

    Commodore 64

Hello. I hope I understood you correctly. Commodore Business Machines went out of business and went bankrupt in 1994. That's why you don't see Commodore computers in North America. There are still some Commodore businesses in Europe, selling stuff like telephones, PC clones, etc. Enjoy.

    Best Rpg?

Hello. I'm partial to old skool RPG's. Some of my favorites include: Bards Tale Triology (I, II & III) Might & Magic series Eye of Beholder III Pool of Radiance and other SSI's TSR adaptions such as Curse of the Azure Bonds, etc. I did like playing those old text adventures from...

    Linux etc

Hello. I originally with SuSE LINUX. It was pretty nice, but it was hard to use initially and I later abandoned my LINUX experiment. Thankfully, I gave it a second chance and went with Red Hat Linux. I find myself more comfortable now in using it and becoming more familar with its...

    Your deaf kids, which school?

Hello. If I have Deaf children, I'd send them to Md. School for the Deaf or KDES. These two schools are the best for elementary school education. I wouldn't consider any other school. After elementary school, then I'll leave it up to them to decide. Enjoy.

    Gally Vs. NTID

Hello, Javapride- First of all, it is best that you consult with your V.R. counselor. He/she can make or break your educational goals and you will eventually have to work out an educational/rehabilitation plan with them. Secondly, do keep in mind that oftentimes, students attend colleges...

    Gally vs. RIT

Hello. I myself attended Gallaudet University. The best 4 1/2 years of my life. I naturally refer any bright Deaf student to explore the possibility of enrolling at Gallaudet. NTID/RIT is okay, I suppose. I've visited there a few times and I don't remember being that impressed. Being a...
