Hi Everyone! Finally, I'm back on the boards after being absent for a while... Still got 6 piggies and a rabbit, too.... if anyone is interested in adopting a guinea pig, I work for the animal rescue group and we have plenty of piggies waiting for loving homes....
Nice to be back!
Hello There! Welcome. I have a guinea pig named Christina. And I'm originally from upstate NY, although closer to the Buffalo area. Good to have you here. Enjoy your time on the alldeaf.com Boards!
Hey Pom,
I've got 6 guinea pigs. Want one? They make much better pets than hamsters. I pet-sit for a friend's hamster recently. The hamster nibbled on my fingers. I think it was because the hamster smelled a guinea pig on my hands? I can say for a fact that guinea pigs generally don't bite...
I hope your cat gets well soon. Today I was at my vet's office with my sick rabbit. The rabbit has a bacterial infection and needed antibiotic meds. So, I guess you & I both are worried about our sick babies. I'll be thinking of you.
I bring the newspaper in with me. Yes, I can read it, but sometimes if we run out of toilet paper, I still got my newspaper. Isn't half as nice, though.
Margie, could you please elaborate on this one. I've heard that Deaf, Black Women get picked on the most. Do you think that Deaf, Jewish Women have it worse? I'm intrigued. We all can be educated here.
I think we all have been picked on at one time or another.....
I lost my hearing totally at age 7 after becoming ill with spinal meningitis. It's gone completely. I wore hearing aids as a child, but they didn't work for me. It's been over 35 years since I even came close to a hearing aid. So, color me clueless on this subject. Time to do some homework...
Clueless .... I thought someone was talking about me. (ain't that the truth, though!) anyway, I guess hearing aids don't work for those who are profoundly totally deaf, they only work for those who have residual hearing, unless I'm really clueless.
