That is an excellent idea. Although, chances are most of these houses are already stripped. But they could still make some money this way. Perhaps they could even auction streets off. The demo will most likely be large machinery demo and I doubt they will waste much time on removing asbestos...

Detroit's credit is already junk. Chicago's credit just dropped 3 notches. Still investment grade for now....but barely. Large scale demolitions are easier and much cheaper. In New Orleans we we did some Demos for $2,000-3000 Single family structures normally will not require abatement...

That is going to be really interesting to watch. We are really in no position to bail them out and it would be unfair to other cities to be weighted down with Chicago or Detroit. I say they made their bed...let them lay in it.

I've done the Sears tower many times. It's really cool. Even the elevator ride is fun. A bunch of Rangers players did the Toronto thing. If I ever make it that way I would like to try that.

Hospitals are required by law to deliver babies despite an inability to pay. So if your sister is pregnant she will be ok.
