I think where we are getting our wires crossed is when I said 'just want to meet'. That was referring to friendship only as I'm married ☺️ I will chat to anyone!!
Yeah it's been a massive adjustment
yes im a registered nurse. Work 4 days a week. The loss of vestibular function is more of an issue than going deaf TBH :/
Yes work has been very supportive thankfully! Never imagined i would start going deaf back when i was 33!
Hi all ☺️
I'm looking to meet new friends that are deaf or HOH I have autoimmune inner ear disease and am going deaf. Have a CI in my right ear and am losing my hearing in my left ear.
Just looking for new friends in their 20's 30's and 40's to chat with!
I would have bought my favourite motorcycle I always wanted before I lost my vestibular function. Working around that tho and looking at getting a new car this year if my illness settles down :D
I'd definitely go personality over looks any day. However I believe that there must be at least some physical attraction as well. In saying that I've met people over the years that are attractive but are so self absorbed it's a total turn off. I am fortunate I am married to my beautiful wife...
Thanks mate :)
Yeah this illness has definitely taught me to be patient! Lol
I love my CI. Yes it's a big learning curve but I have a lot of knowledge into the ears of the brain and have read many articles on neuro plasticity so I have faith it will only get better.
I'm still in hospital on...
As the title suggests. Love my two staffies. Such great and loyal dogs. When I first got ill and was losing my hearing and suffering constant vertigo and severe vertigo attacks landing me in hospital my two Staffs were the best company I could have when my wife was at work :)
I am currently learning how to hear thru my CI after losing my hearing in my right ear 2 years ago. I have had 3 maps so far, doing listening training with software given to my by my audio and have used angel sound etc. I now listen to pod casts which is helping greatly :)
I wear my CI for 18...
