Brandon - 94.5 The Buzz Saves The Day, and Gets a Guy Free Beer for Life!
April 22, 2008

Today began with something different, or so states Wheel of Justice producer Tracy Hatfield, as we get in the car this morning. “Let’s head to Katy Mills Mall and could you put the radio on 94.5,” she says. I turned it to The Buzz, and “The Rod Ryan Morning Show” was on. They were talking about a missing bus that belongs to Lucky’s Pub, and it was stolen from the bar last week.

Rod Ryan and his crew were asking all of the audience to be on ”high alert” for the stolen bus. The bus couldn’t be hard to miss, it’s painted green and has Lucky’s Pub all over it. As a reward, Lucky’s was offering FREE BEER FOR LIFE!

Well, it didn’t take too long before a fellow named Stephen called in saying he spotted the bus at Katy Mills Mall, about 30 miles away from Lucky’s downtown location. How about that! So off we headed to Katy Mills to get the dramatic recovery on tape.

At the scene, the Katy Police were on scene and a tow truck was ready to tow the bus away. Stephen Berry was there, very excited to help out, and excited to collect his reward. He was actually at the mall for a job interview, when he spotted the bus. He says he thinks he got the job, congrats Steven!

We went to Lucky’s, the owner, Anthony Wegmann was very excited to get his bus back. He’s even thinking about making a plaque in Stephen’s honor.

This story will air later in the week, congrats to everyone involved, except the bus thief, shame on him.

Wow, lucky guy!

I wish it was me that found the bus! :)

Nice reward, but I hope he don't get any problem with the alcohol due to free.

well if that guy who won... could have enter and ordered one free beer.. then stepped out and waited for about one hour then re-entered could he get another one free beer??

Free beer for life means free beer for life but they won't let him go home tanked.

A bar that has a bus to take its customers home? That bar, definitely, can afford to give the guy more than one brew. In fact, if it was just one, the rest of the dudes who depended on that bus would give him quite a few!

On a side note, it'd be nice to see many other bars to have their own bus. It's good business and it's responsible business.
