Thought to create a fun thread in honor for AllDeaf's 6th bday which is tmw.

Where was everyone 6 years ago and how is your life different today?

I was completing my final semester at Gallaudet, getting ready to graduate with my Master's in May. I was single with no boyfriend in sight, had one5-year old daughter, and living in a crappy one bathroom apt with 4 other roommates who loved to party every night.

Now, I am a teacher, married, have 2 kids, my daughter is 11, and own a house. A lot can happen in 6 years!!!

What about you?

You rock girl.. And you only beginning,, just think of all the lives you are touching now...

I was happily married, rasin kids and muddling through life.... Probably the happiest time of my life..

Back in 2002 - When I was 15 years old. I was in Year 9 (Grade 9) in High School, I was behaving better than I was a troublemaker a year before. Had the best camp that year, where we went to Queensland (Gold Coast) for 7 day camp.

Now 21, working full time in a professional job, living myself in a nice apartment, recently purchased a sexy LCD Television. No girlfriend, still looking and working on one though, but just taking my time. Soon travelling again. First in the hometown to own a VP soon :D

I surely learn alot of stuff around the AD since I have been here.

What happened while I was on the AD, I success moved out of my parent's place again (first time was in 2005, second time in 2007) and happy living independent, also learned alot of things in the real world and the reality itself. Also my memories about what's it like to be in the high school are starting to fading except for those my friends.

Can't wait to go to Greece this May! :)

Six years ago I was a first-year teacher at a treatment facility for children with severe behavior and/or psychotic disorders. I loved my job and enjoyed being a new Mommy to a wonderful baby girl. I was also going to graduate school. And it was during that time when my husband and I separated. It was stressful juggling graduate school, being a first-time single mother with a premature baby, and having a new job as a teacher. Some of it was really hard and painful...and some of it was just blissfully wonderful. Shel's right - a lot can happen in six years :).

In 2002 I was only 13! AH omg wow so long ago! I was in grade 8 and I was oblivious to the deaf community apart from when i maybe noticed people singing or if someone had ha's or ci(s)..
I just started doing cheerleading and gymnastics!
I was living in Maryland:)
I had my first "boyfriend" for 2 days!! haha
I'm not sure what else. But i wasn't hoh then...i was sad when i started to lose my hearing but now i see it as an ok thing and who cares!! This what i started doing in 2002 and this video is from 03-04YouTube - Maryland Twisters F5 NCA 04
this one is less choppy! hahaYouTube - Maryland Twisters F-5 Worlds 04

And today, I am still stay home mom but start look for part time job, got married, got 2 dogs, still living in same house since we moved in 2002 and my husband have a great job. Ummm what else? LOL!

Six years ago ? Umm... let me think if I could remember --

I was divorced with my ex 6 years ago and, then moved up to Juneau, Alaska for a year before I moved to Haines, Alaska for another year. In 2005, I flew down to Iowa to meet significant other and stayed in Iowa for 2 years. The relationship didn't work out so well ..so, I decided to fly back to Alaska last Dec. 1st last year.

March 4th, I picked up my dog, Desi from Iowa and flew back to Alaska to live with me. She loves all the nature around here. :D

back in 2002, I was student at MSSD (senior)

now, working full time as SRA daytime

I was in 8th grade, middle school student and remember about school uniform, eek.

I was a single mother working and taking care of my son taking him to therapy every day so he could get treatment to improve his skills. It was hard. :(

Now I am at my mom's taking care of my mom as she is sick. Running errands for her like get her medicines and foods, cooking foods and cleaning general duties.

I only wish i had found this forum 6 years ago!!!
six years ago i was pregnant with my first Deaf child!

2002... wow was that 6 years ago?! Geezus, time goes by fast!

I was 16, turning 17 and I was in Grade 11. LOL. I was flirting with this guy at school and then a month later, we got together haha. High school, huh! Didn't work out though.

wow good thread here...

I remember back to 2002, this is my youngest son's first school day...

We had our house remodel and renovation after our house was being extended.

3 months later after we got our first computer with internet at home, registered AllDeaf in January 2004... (I use computer at work place for years until my boys nagged us for have computer because their friends have one...)

Now we have everything is wonderful boys, job, dream house, etc.

It was the year I started as an University student. I had erratic interpreting and I failed two subjects....

Oh yeah, spent a lot of time online flirting ;)
I had an online boyf, whom I never met in real life.

Hmm,not much happened in that year as far as I can recall.

Now I don't spend time online flirting. I graduated from University and travelled to few countries. Hunted for jobs.

This year I've started a job, which means I'm starting to work every week. Spend a part of my time here @ AllDeaf. And always dreaming of winning the jackpot. :)

Also I'm single.

Ahh well, life's alright.
