I'm a hearing person but I could so see myself with someone that was deaf. All my friends think I'm crazy and say I shouldn't do it. Should I only date hearing JUST BECAUSE I'm hearing?

As long as you two are a great match. Look for the best qualities you want in the special someone...and see what flaws you can live with. Anyone with flaws you can't tolerate, not worth it. Have fun dating and the right person will come to you. It won't matter if deaf or hearing. You will just know. The best relationships happen when you are NOT looking. My man happened when I was not looking. Now it has been over ten years and two children.....

Hi Hearing u, I just read your comment. I am deaf all my life. I have my wonderful hearing husband for 28 years! Don't listen to the others what they are telling you. You will know who's the right person for you no matters hearing or deaf. I have 2 grown children and they signs as well. ll my families and reliavtes as well . God will brings you to it when you can't see through it. :)

Don't listen to them.

One very important part in all relationships is... communication.

If you and he can communicate very well, great. Just make sure you don't leave him out too much.

I have deaf friends who dated hearing people. Those hearing people knew how to sign, but they would often forget that my deaf friends were there and end up leaving my deaf friends out.

Vam Pyrox :) I agreed with you . That's how my husband know how to sign . I ve know him for almost 30 years this coming fall! He's just a wonderful... caring... and a Christian . But we have been married for 28 years!

I am deaf and married to a wonderful hearing guy.

However, if u are looking to date just deaf men just simply cuz they are deaf, it probably wont work. Just like I used to refuse to date hearing men and dated only deaf while I was single. Of course, with that kind of mindset, most likely it wont work out.

I agree with the other ADers. Great advice here and so true! :)

I just got engaged a few weeks ago to my fiance (dating for 3 years), he's deaf and I'm hearing. It doesn't matter what one or the other is, all that matters is that you're with them because you want to be with them. What others think should not be the end all-be all.

As long as you love for who they are not just cuz they are deaf or not. That is not the important except communication and get along great etc. then I dont see any plm in the relationship being flourinshed. Good luck! :)

I wouldn't listen to others, follow your heart, be it.. if they can't accept you then they aren't your friends smile :)

Don't listen to your friends! Just follow what your heart say about dating deaf guy. I had friends telling me same thing.... I am deaf and used to dating hearing guys. No luck with hearing guys but good experience dating hearing guys. However I am married to a wonderful deaf guy!

IMPORTANT for your relationship is COMMUNICATION with each other so you guys won't feel left out!

Please dont listen them. You should follow your heart. I am deaf and I married a hearing man for 11 years. My husband know sign language well.

My advice is just listen to you heart, and let that guide you. Don't listen to other people say that you can't date this person because he or she is different. Life is all about taking chances with someone no matter who is deaf or hearing. Just feel what your heart tell you, and then you will know what you want to do. :)

I am getting marry next 2 months left to go! My fiance is hearing and know sign language very well. I am deaf. :)

:ty: Yeah, Marriage is very important. I am happy for you're married for 28 years now. That's so perfect! Keep it up! I believe in god. I don't believe in divorce or unmarriage and have children cause break up. My parents never get divorced. My new husband's parents got divorced. It hurt him a lot. He didn't want to be same as his parent. He wanted to look for a perfect relationship and marriage from god. I found a right hearing man from god answered my pray. I am so happy! I can't wait to get over with wedding plan. It drove me crazy! LoL I can't wait go to honeymoon.

I was sitting here wondering, why r people making a issue i guess about dating, marrying a deaf or hard of hearing person?? Do u see people saying about a handicapped person?? like oh my boyfriend/girlfriend is crippled, should i marry that person?? Oh, my boyfriend/girlfriend is blind should i go out with that person?? i mean theres so many people out there with different disabililities....why is there a problem?? as long as the heart is there with that special person in ur life, why worry about it?? wouldnt u worry about can we spend a lifetime together? will we be able to support each other? deaf or not, we all have feelings about our special person....in our lives and if we really want to be with that person ......not becuz that person is deaf....maybe im tooo touchy??
