I figured since there's no forum for beauty, hair and skin topic so I put this one up to act as mini forum. I did put up poll to set up forum for it in feedback/suggestion forum but it seem to be little slow and only few voted so it might not happen. So here it is.
What you all can do is put up tips, tricks or remedy you know that work wonder for any problems, products recommendation, ask questions about your problem to get advice from other AD members, how to do whatever like hair style, make up, ask what kind haircut or color we think you should get, ANYTHING related to subject.
Here's mine.
Tip for fine hair to add volume is use lightweight conditioner in shower, rinse, towel dried hair, then put on anti-frizz cream like garnier fructis strong anti frizz sleek and shine milk on only to most frizzy prone part of hair and ends so it don't weight hair down much then flip over hair, blow dry with tourmaline ionic dryer till completely dried then brush hair down with wide toothed comb instant volume and gorgeous hair all day long.
For skin, wash with mild cleanser like cetaphil before put on ANY facial products on for example medicated facial wash, pads, spot treatment, anti-wrinkle cream, moisturizer, etc so it penetrate and work much better.
Ummm do you have anything more?

I had the suggestion as well no one was interested. I am glad your interested in beauty tips.

Well I don't know if this counts, as while it is not only for girls, but I have always feel so down after I come out of a haircut store. I always feel uncomfortable with how the hairstylist cut my hair, till few months ago I finally decide to learn how to cut my hair MYSELF, and I always was happy with how I cut my hairs, also proud of my hair because it is the way I want it to be. Cutting their own hairs can help them to be happy with their own haircut.

Puyopiyo you're right about this is not only for girls, guys are perfectly welcomed in here.
Yeah one time I had haircut that was horrible from walmart so I changed front part (I had spiky back and long chin length front) I cut it myself and made it shorter into side sweep bangs and it look very cute 4 years ago.
What I suggest is don't hesist to say stop or say no don't do that and keep tell hairstylist to do what you want and change something you don't like until you're satisified with result don't think about her/his feeling or taking too much time and makes customer wait, its your money! You deserve to get hair you want since you paid for it. Like one time hairstylist won't listen so I refuse to leave until she got it right by tell her cut here this much don't do this, etc and 3 hours later I got the most perfect haircut that I absolutely love.

I know exactly how you feel , back in Oct. 24, 2007 was the dooms day for me. I have since not trimmed my hair bec of this woman who chopped my hair off when I asked her for a trim :( I was soo sad and crying every night horrible! Do share how do you cut your own hair?

I have to agree with you, always be honest when talking with the hairstylist, don't let the hairstylist cut whatever you don't want to be cut or want to cut. I am glad that you tried to cut your hair to make yourself happy :)

Ohh yeah, I understand exactly how you feel! That always happen to me many times when I was only asking for 1 inch trim but the hairstylist cutting like 2-3 inches so far, later I fed up and cut myself..

Sure, actually I have two ways, but remember, this is a homestyle haircut so it probably won't sounds similar to the hairstylist. Also my hairstyle might not be so professional, but it can give some of ideas :)

At first time I tried to cut my hair, is when I put my head upside down and tied my ponytail (rattail) at the back of my head, then wrap all the rest of my hair and chop it off. When I put my head up, I trimming some of my hair to adjust. Here's the picture of me before and after my haircut.

Also at second time when I cut my hair, I find the way that I described at above seems difficult and quite of confusing to do so I tried different way so I tied my ponytail (rattail) at the back of my head, then wrapping all my hair on the right side with my hand, and put the side of my fist on my ear to keep the shape of hair around my ear, then chop it off. I did the same thing with the left side of my head. Also I combed my front hairs all over my face, then cutting the length I wanted it to be. I put my hand behind of some hairs on the back of my head, then cutting the hair (this part is the hardest part) then trimming some of hairs. After whole of that, I am done. Sorry no picture for this way, but it seems are much similar to the pictures above.

Also I have a friend who cut his hair too, and he was very happy with his hairstyle, he was used to use the rozar machine to shave all of his head to be blad, but later he decide to have a spikey on his head so he shave all of his hair on each of sides and leave the hair for spikey on the middle from front of head to back of head.

Why are you always uncomfortable? Don't you tell them how you want it done?

You should show them a picture of how you want your hair done, so that it's done right next time.

My hair is done in the most simplest way possible... #2 around the sides and #4 on top. That's pretty much it.

Of course, I always shower when I get back home because of all the itty bitty pieces of hair all over me. Ugh!

Why are you always uncomfortable?

Because the hairstylist kept don't understand the way how I want it look, also I don't really feel that my hairstyle when I come out of the haircut store was my own personal look.

Don't you tell them how you want it done?

*nods* I told them to just trim 1 inch, but they always wrong..

Well since I learned how to cut my hair, I don't think I want to go back to the haircut store again, and save my money! :)

You don't always have to go to the same place all the time. If you prefer the same place because of prices, you can always request a different stylist instead.

When I was at RIT, I always went to SuperCuts because of their good prices considering how simple my hair is cut. There was one woman there who was very friendly and always understood how I wanted my hair done. So, I always called in advance to see if she was working that night then show up 20 minutes later with her as my requested stylist. :)

LOL What's funny is that I do go to SuperCut too, also Great Clip and Perfect Look, but I still prefer to cut myself :)

Anyway, that's good that you are happy with your own hairstylist ;)

I am soo impressed you did an awesome job! It looks soo professionally done great haircut too. I would be afraid of cutting my hair in the back bec I can't see or reach it. I am due for a trim but I am soo scared to have a trim bec of my bad experience a trim to the hairstylist was cutting 3-4 inches. I have wavy hair it makes my hair look shorter than what it really is.
Thanks for sharing your haircut tips.

:giggle::giggle::giggle: Now and again while I am growing out my hair I will "trim" my own bangs. It gets crazy cause you have to make sure they are straight and always end up shorter than I wanted!!! lol Thank God my hair grows quickly.

My biggest "beauty" tip for men and women is protect your skin from sun damage.

i had my hair trimmed 2 weeks ago by my stylist friend i told her trimmed only cuz i was not ready for the CUT and the hair was one i wanted oh well

but i had BAD experience with BAD haircut once i wanted to short my hair and and it was VERY short like man jeez it was SO bad that i refuse to have it cut that short so i let it grow out and have it trimmed everytime so my hair don't look bad with slits i look WORSE with short hair jeez

i was wonder how is your hair doing OB7 smile hugs

My beauty tip:

The key to soft, beautiful skin is Vaseline. It's gross but works like a Charm.

So you slather vaseline all over face?
Lol I'm too chicken to try that cuz of acne problem.
I tried a lot of acne cleanser including proactiv, etc but none of them worked so I tried simple no fancy name or chemical in it or anything just plain and mild cleanser so I got cetaphil and easy way to keep face clean so I got equate daily facial cleanser wipes and if my face feel dry and I decided to try special lotion that designed for acne prone skin so I got trusty brand neutrogena face lotion with salylic acid in it and they worked perfectly for me if I wash my face in shower every other day or 2 and put lotion on face only if I used cetaphil and use wipes 2-3 times daily and not using lotion or it'll be greasy my acne'll clear up in no time, weird huh?

Ha ok here is what I do. Once a week I put light amount on my face and then also all over my body and then cover up in long sleeve tshirt and jamie bottoms. Next morning I hop in the shower and wash off. One time a week shouldn't be to bad for you. :)

Not just another pretty face

Believe it or not, I cut my own hair. Takes about 30 seconds every two weeks with ConAir clippers, follow-up with Gillette Power Fusion, but kids should not try this at home.

No, this is not a professional model's or retouched actor's photo, and I'm not posting my pix here to make the rest of you feel bad, though I do realize comparison may cause hopeless envy

It's always been that way. Many think I'm in my teens or early twenties, but I'm actually a little older. Would I lie?

For me, excessive good-looks has been a curse rather than a boon, so I don't use beauty aids the rest of you need.

Warning: guys, do not show this photo to your wives and girlfriends. They will just throw rocks at you.
