Have you been to a doctor? You should get a complete physical exam and lab work up first, to be sure that there's not some medical reason.

Did you speak to a nutritionist?

I am skinny, too. In my 30's and it starts improve little by little with all calories that help you make heavier. I not like being FAT but I like to be still healthy.

<<< my icon, I look better than 96 lbs since I was 13 years old until 30's. (oh I wore TUXEDO)

I know I look healthy in my past years but I did lost 10 lbs for a year and gone to hosptial is because my roomies did not have any food for me.

Really quick but ...........

I understand. I am 5'2" also and 105 pounds so not too thin so much (about 3 pounds too less) but if I am sick or too busy or too much stress I lose weight. Also I want to gain weight in the spring because I play soccer against some women who are much bigger. I run everyday almost to keep muscle on, lift weights, and play sports - these also increase my appetite. Do you try to exercise?

When I need to gain a lot of weight I eat full-fat cottage cheese (lots of protein also), full-fat yogurt, salmon (fatty) etc. And I drink Atkins Shake - not a lot of calories or fat really (I think) but high in protein and not so filling.

Did you speak to a nutritionist?

No but I don't think my insurance would cover it though wish nutritionist are free and chef too dang it would be so great if have both in kitchen making food for me everyday!

I was thin back then - I am in a healthy state and in a fit shape now. All you need is just to keep eating.. you need to ingore these mental sayings in your head - "Don't eat too much". Just eat lot of healthy food and play some sports and get yourself fit. I kept eating and eating... and I look much better now and lile Mizzuu said - it takes steps and steps to get back to normal. Just eat and excercise a lot - while excercising and playing sports, drink LOTS of water too.

GO to chipotle, order the 13" tortilla, rice, sour cream, cheese, chicken. Total is 1019 calories.

SkullChick...maybe you have a high metabolism right now but as you get older, it shoudl slow down.

Why is eating boring to u? Just curious.

How about a malt (extra malt powder-yum) aday after a nutritious meal?

Look up on the weight chart: Height and Weight Chart

I may think that you have some parasites in your stomach. I can't proof it, but you may want eat medium spicy food once a while to kill them to see how much you weight in two weeks. Indian buffets, spicy veggie chicken burgers, etc.

Yogurt is good for your stomach - 1/2 cup yogurt every morning and evening.

- Stop eating french fries - potato chips and any junk food. (oh yeah, that's big difference.)
- Stay away from high corn fruit syrup (very common in food products).
- Never eat anything that has "diet" on the label or zero calories (worst is aspartame and splenda as artificial sweetners ...all fake sugar packets).
- Stop drinking coffee - change to tea. (Another thing, coffee has been in the pot for a while get tanic acid in it.)
- Do not buy a food with a label or ingredient that says "enrich" wheat or other enrich food that makes you tired.
- Always read the ingredients if you are not familiar the names (even strange names), and never buy them. The best is a few and simple ingredients.
- Do not believe a food seller that says it is good for your health. That's not entire true. The only way for you to proof is to read the ingredients. It's because the seller doesn't even know or does not tell the truth because of money business.
- Eat raw fruits.
- Meat stays in your stomach for 3 days before it is digested (not normal).
- Eat banana, mashed potatoes... Proteins and potassium are extremely important.

When I was in my 20's, I was trying to gain some weight. (I wa 5'0" tall and weighed 90 lbs). The doctor told me to make a milk shake everynight with ice cream, Half & Half, chocolate syrup, and malt powder. I would drink an 8 oz glass every night before bed. My husband would finish off what was in the blender (maybe 2-3 oz.). At the end of 3 months, I had gained not so much as an ounce, while my husband gained 10 lbs. LOL.

Some of us are simply made to be smaller. I weigh within 2 lbs of what I weighed when I graduated from high school. The only time in my life that I have made it over 100 lbs is when I was pregnant. I too, can drop 5 lbs in a couple of days if I am sick, and have a more difficult time putting it back on than loosing it. I eat small meals several times a day rather that 2 or 3 big meals because I get full very quickly. My bone structure is very small.

I have come to the conclusion that this is just the way I am supposed to be. As long as I feel well, and am able to keep up my 12-14 hour days, all I worry about is not loosing weight, rather than trying to gain weight. I'm healthy, I rarely even get a cold, and have never been hospitalized except to give birth. I am a strong A personality, and have always had lots of energy. My friends say I do everything quickly! I try a bit harder to eat a healthy diet now that I am older, but there are days that i consume nothing but sugar and fats, LOL. My point being, those weight charts in the doctor's office do not take into account things like individual bone structure and metabolism. What is normal for one is not normal for all.

Maybe, maybe not. I have been told all my life that when I hit my 30's my metabolism would slow down and I would start to gain weight.......20 years later I'm still waiting and still weigh 97 lbs. LOL! The bad part is trying to find clothes that actually fit and are age appropriate!

I don't really find eating boring, and I love to cook, though. I just eat small amounts because I get full quickly. But 2 hours later, I'm eating again. I can however, forget to eat if I am busy and involved in something...but a headache usually reminds me that I need to stop and eat. I've been that way all my life.

Jillio, I'm kinda the same as yourself in many ways except that I am just under 6' 2" and weigh about 178 pounds. I chalked it off to a high metabolic rate which has slowed a little.

Despite your height, I would venture to guess that you probably have a fairly small bone structure as well as a quick metabolism. I also think the reason mine has not slowed is because I compensate by eating several small meals instead of 3 big ones. Same amount of food, but digested differently.
