Why do some people continuing driving drunk?

I think the US law for drinking driver are too easy for them... They should strict with drinking drivers - example banned their driving licesne temparily with high fine penatly, no matter either accident or not... depend how % in their blood then send them back to driving school which it cost a lot of money. If they repeat then their driving liescne will ban permanently. (depend on how huge accidents).

Yes, you are correct about this but I know US law, the bartenders are not allow to serve minor alocholic until the minors are 21 years old. They will get trouble for break the law to serve minor an aloholic in their bar. Right? If yes, then they will be in trouble with law if any happened to minor in accident after leave their bar. But for legal age, I respectfully disagree with the link, Reba provided because the drunk driver is a legal age, not minor.
 
If you must drive after drinking, stay completely sober:

They do send them to driving school, charge them fines, throw them in the drunk tank, and take away their licenses but some drunk drivers keep driving. Some of them don't stop until either they die, or get locked up in prison (long term).

:confused: Did I say anything to disagree with YOU? I do not see anything that I say to direct you but quote to state in general way what I think of the link, you provided.

For your information, we feel free to state our own views either we agree to disagree with the law, opinion, etc.

I wasn't speaking of "minors". I was talking about adults. If I put down minors that would have been a different issue. But we do know minors do breaks laws sometimes out of dare or being to cocky.
 
Drinking alcohol by teenagers with parents decreases alcohol abuse, such as binge drinking, new study reports. Other research has also found that young people who drink with their parents are least likely to experience drinking or alcohol-related problems.

Not when they're intoxicated, they're dangerous, stupid, wrong not thinking clearly anyway how would they know the responsibilities of driving on the roads when they're intoxicated? It clouds their judgment, Liebling.

And yes they're responsible for any accident or death of another car or person. But, if an intoxicated person drink at a local bar and got behind the wheels of the car, Yes it's part of the bartender's fault for allowing to serve this person more/

I never say that you talk about minors. I only stated the subject about "bartenders´ responsiblity". How difference responsiblity between minor and adult. For adult, they make their own responsiblity, not bartenders.

Yes I know and agree that the minors often break the laws for drink alochol but the bartenders are not allow to serve minors when they visit their bars. They can check their ID before serve them drink. My 45 years old German co-worker told me that he and his girlfriend went USA for 4 weeks holiday. The bartender asked them for their ID before serve the drink to them. I was like :eek3: because he do not look like 21 years old but 30 years old. Anyway, I told him that I can understand it´s bartender´s responsibity to ask anyone for ID before they able to serve them the drink.

I've seen this research, and I tend to agree that this would be true, if the parents are providing models of responsible alcohol use. Teen agers that sneak alcohol do so partly because it is forbidden to them and that makes it more exciting. Also, when they are in a group of other teenagers, they are being influenced by their peers, and one 15 year old influencing another 15 year old only makes the situation more dangerous because neither one of them have the maturity to handle the situation.
 
If you haven’t seen “The Cat in the Hat” movie, here’s a brief synopsis of the story line: The Cat tells the little Boy that whatever he does, do NOT open the big box the Cat brought into the house or bad things will happen. Naturally, unable to withstand the temptation, the kid opens the box - and all Hades breaks out. In the end the Cat admits he told the boy NOT to open the box because he KNEW the kid wouldn’t be able to resist doing what he was told not to do.

Kinda like the way society handles kids and alcohol.

When it comes to “adult beverages,” the unmistakable lesson drilled into kids’ heads is “don’t open the box.” Whatever you do, don’t drink. Period. End of discussion. So after 18 years of being told “no, no, no” under Mom and Dad’s roof, what’s the first thing Little Johnny does when he finally leaves the nest and flies off to college? Party time, baby!! Keg-ger! Keg-ger!

And with the predictable, often tragic, consequences. Having never been taught how to responsibly consume alcoholic beverages, these young adults have a tendency to take a good thing too far - often killing themselves and others.

Yup, that what I thought about that.

Ok, when want bring Prohibition back then why does other illegal drugs are still existing in USA then it wouldn't work.

Some bartenders can be stubborn to give an alcohol to drunk people and make alot of money for serve the business.

Thankfully, I stopped to drink alcohol for some reason except for red wine on special day with my family, havent been for over 1 years.

oh, I'm sure the asked for I.D. lic before entering a bar. So today they can't use fake ID any more. they make new tough I.D. now days they can be scanned. So, far kids can't go into bars unless they are 21 years of age. But I am sure they get sneaked by other people.

True they're adults and do have a choice to choose to drink more or not but unfortunately these people are alcoholic and it doesn't matter what kind of alcohol someone drinks or even how much alcohol, they are often unable to stop drinking once they start unless they seek help and they often hide their drinking or deny they have a problem etc. Sometimes we can't help someone who doesnt want our help, until they realizes that they have a problem..A good friend of mine that works with me nearly died from alcohol poisoning and the doctor warn him to stop drinking, he did good for awhile until he got back on it again :sigh: , hes been in and out of the hospital so many times that I've lost count, but he's just addict to alcohol and refused to get help with his problems, and when you are concerned about someone’s drinking and try so hard to help them, they just can't seem to stop themselves from drinking so much..Also children or teenagers may have seen their parents drink or see on TV commercials or ads about beer and wine and it's easy for them to get the wrong message about alcohol by thinking drinking looks like a lot of fun and some state laws decided that children shouldn't be allowed to buy or use alcohol unless they're 21 but what makes them think they won't get it elsewhere?...
