As you all know that I moved to a new house and I set up my computer and then my vp. Now that my vp dont work right. What I mean is that there is black box that I cant see my friend. I have tried resetting and went online on http://192.168.0.1 and still no help at all.

What can go wrong and why it is still black?

that what i am going through.. (yawns) long waiting..

Ugh!! lol :) patiences patiences.. (eek losing patiences) :D

What modem do you have? Who is your ISP? Are you using a router or a switch?

Ah - ok, should not be too hard to fix. Go to your router's control panel (192.168.0.1 and then username = admin, password = (blank)) Once you are in, click advance tab and then on the left, click DMZ, enable DMZ and change the number to 125 and click apply like the picture below. When done, go t your VP-100 or VP-200 and make sure your VP IP address is 192.168.0.125, subnet is 255.255.255.0, gateway is 192.168.0.1, DNS#1 is 192.168.0.1 (you don't need second DNS) and reboot your VP. That should fix the black screen.

I have done that too many times and nothing works. So I got email from sorensen and hopefully will work this time.

Wait, I have seen many run in same problem. Sometimes the add ons on browser remove the address bar, thus you may have used search engine bar, which will NOT work.
If you can't find the bar which starts with address before the bar, try to find it, do not use google, Yahoo, etc. it will NOT work.

If everything fails, then you can always hit start button on windows, then click run then type http://192.168.0.1

If this fails, then you will need to find out the gateway address, by click start, run then type command. This will lead you to command prompt, type ipconfig then it will show you the network address, find the gateway address, it can be 192.168.1.1 or other possible ip address to go in the router. :) to get out of command, type exit then your out.

good recommened from me. Do you need me help?

Take easy it, throw your VP out of window ;)

Har har, really the Videophone itself is not the problem when it comes to black screen, it is either router or modem causing that. So, throw out either router or modem!

I have another question about remote control itself...

How can I put a person on a hold thru the remote control ? I couldn't figure it out. I am lost.

Oh, I forgot to add : I have my own Sorenson VP200.

Oh, yup, just throw router out of window.

Router is #1 that causing more problem if setting isn't properly.

Who is your Internet Service Provider (ISP)??? A Sorenson installer came about 3-4 weeks ago to my house and tried to install a Sorenson SR-200 router (this is virtually identical to the DI-604 router), but it would NOT work no matter what he did. It could not get the modem to give it an IP address. When putting an old router back in (DI-614) it would work just fine. I suspect that Comcast (my ISP) just doesn't play nice with DI-604 routers.

After I received email from sorerson and I fixed it. Found out that the DUHHHHH cable installer put the wire in the wrong place on the router. So now it fine. Thanks goodness.

I am done and glad it working.
