Heck, Treo have high-speed than iPhone at cheap rate.

Yup there are.. Ebay for new or used unlocked SK2, SK3 and Blackberries ect... Or if you are customer of one cellular co.. You'll get discount. Tmobile offer SK3 for $219 for Tmobile customers. It's cheaper than purchasing from other seller. IF you purchase one from Wirefly, DeafPager ect.. You'll end up paying more for activitation fees, credit check, than you do through your own cellular co (Because they refuse to sell to current customer of cellular co. Must be a first time customer means have your Husband or Wife or parent or bro and sis create new account for ya).. 2 years ago..Tmobile told me that I should have purchase SK2 through them than through WireFly where they sell for $150 for sk2 each when they're new.. I spend $600 total for two sk2 (credit check, activitation fees, new account ect..) when I should have use Tmobile directly for less than $450 since I was their customer for 2 years and still keep my account.. (I had original SK, SK Color back then). I got suckered from WireFly.. Lesson learned...

Let's wait and see. They're all talk, no show.. I doubt they'll keep prices stable in 5 years. I promise you!!. They'll lose customer to a newer cheaper PDA which functions better than iPhone LOL. So they must keep it competitive by bringing price down and also to get rid of iPhone once new one come out. New comes in, old goes out...

Really, did they do that with their iPod.. first iPod then dump iPod and by cheaper mp3 player? nope.. they upgraded to newer iPod *shrug*

It not "costly" it a common standard cell phone prices for hearing people who need both voice and data on thier phone.

SK can be costly too if you add a voice plan on it :run:

Right and that rate plan offered by Apple/AT&T are better than other carriers.

People are willing to purchase older iPods cheap for their kids or themselve while newer are upgraded. You can see plenty of them on sale on any given holidays and Christmas season. They're trying to get rid of old iPod by lowering the price and try fill in shelves with new upgraded one. Since the current iPod have 20 to 40 gb memory while newer can go around 80gb to 150gb. By then in Christmas season. They'll get rid of older one by lower the price. It's still good to store mp3, pics, video, ect.. My co worker have 40gb iPod. He showed me off his new iPod and it's nice. About 3 months later, he's ranting about iPhone and ditching iPod soon. Aw sheesh. He's single tho..

Yup. Sorry, I wasn't clear about it. I'm talking about Tmobile, Sprint, and others.. Wait until rest of those Cellular co to get iPhone so anyone can compare its rate.. It may not happen unless other cellular carrier decide to have iPhone contracts.

The simple reason why Apple products are expensive.....

They have research and development, so their products are advanced compared to many electronics. They research on what's best and what's usable, what's cool, etc. That's why they add it to the cost of labor on research and development. Many companies do not have R&D so it's cheaper.

Anyways, well at least the iphone MAY be on TAP so we can't complain for the monthly rate. For me, I would rather wait til most of the bugs are whacked out after they release for several months.

Not really care. I can afford it. I work Canon for 7 years and you stuck at college for 10 years that's why you have tight with your budget for many years thru SSI.

Most of member from here who can afford Treo or BB cuz they have full-time jobs.

Wake up! You got Master and you should afford it.

Yes, I can afford it right now... I just don't believe in playing with money like you do.
 
I could care less, too. I paid $400 for my AT&T 8525 and I'm not complaining about it.

Vampy, you will not complain about it if you got a good paying job and need a good phone for your busy career.
