AAAAAHHHHH *thud*
I am getting a Iphone with first plan rate. This is great benefit for deaf and HOH. It has EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING.
Tousi, all SK price are STILL same that's called Retail price (or Regular Price) so all that "low" price are discount or rebate etc etc.. blah blah..
when there's no discount or rebate one pay the retail/regular price. in case of SK 3 it is $399 *shrug* (same as SK and SK II it hasn't come down hmm?)
Except for SideKick iD which is a low cost SK.
Catty, someone put up information here that Apple will hold the iPhone price stable/same for 5 years. Doesn't make sense to me but that's what the information said.....
Really, did they do that with their iPod.. first iPod then dump iPod and by cheaper mp3 player? nope.. they upgraded to newer iPod *shrug*Let's wait and see. They're all talk, no show.. I doubt they'll keep prices stable in 5 years. I promise you!!. They'll lose customer to a newer cheaper PDA which functions better than iPhone LOL. So they must keep it competitive by bringing price down and also to get rid of iPhone once new one come out. New comes in, old goes out...
Catty
Hmm... they've revealed the monthly rates for the iPhone.
It looks costly!
Apple - iPhone - Rate Plans for iPhone
Code:Monthly Price $59.99 $79.99 $99.99 Minutes 450 900 1,350 Unlimited Data (Email/Web) YES YES YES Visual Voicemail YES YES YES SMS Text Messages* 200 200 200 Nights & Weekends 5,000 Unlimited Unlimited Rollover® Minutes YES YES YES Unlimited Mobile to Mobile YES YES YES * more can be added
Since most deaf people won't be using the phone feature, the cheapest option seems to be $60. Since users have to sign up for a 2-year contract, that's a commitment of $1,440. Add $500 to that (4 GB) or $600 (8 GB). Let's not forget the activation fees as well. Altogether, we're looking at over $2,000 for everything... eek! Oh yeah, let's not forget taxes... double eek!
Don't forget... this is only for 200 text messages. For more, additional charges may apply.

Right and that rate plan offered by Apple/AT&T are better than other carriers. It not "costly" it a common standard cell phone prices for hearing people who need both voice and data on thier phone.
SK can be costly too if you add a voice plan on it

as someone already said above, there may be a TAP plan.
So, if you decided to upgrade to a different mobile device... would you still get it for free or at those discounts?http://www.alldeaf.com/deaf-products-technologies/40768-good-news-sprint-deaf-hoh.html#post761027
Are you try to shoot at your own foot?
Sidekick 3 is not free for now.

“iPhone customers can choose from any of AT&T’s standard service plans.
Yes, I can afford it right now... I just don't believe in playing with money like you do.Not really care. I can afford it. I work Canon for 7 years and you stuck at college for 10 years that's why you have tight with your budget for many years thru SSI.
Most of member from here who can afford Treo or BB cuz they have full-time jobs.
Wake up! You got Master and you should afford it.

I could care less, too. I paid $400 for my AT&T 8525 and I'm not complaining about it.
Vampy, you will not complain about it if you got a good paying job and need a good phone for your busy career.
