In a Kansas town, all the churches and houses were destroyed by a powerful tornado. The only buildng that's structurally intact is a tavern bar where pagans, atheists, and heathens go.

At least 9 people are killed.

Oh brother. Why do we have meteoroligist? Do you know, in Joseph's time, when Joseph had a dream that famine is coming? Did you know that Noah warned people about the flood? Not only that. the whole town wiped out, only grain elevator standing, but all others destroyed, I remember many places, where like fires, and found the Bible unharmed, tornado wiped the church out except the statue of Jesus and on and on it goes. But the only thing is, God is still control, inspite of everything. Remember Job, tornado (his time called whirlwind) killed all his children, cattles and everything, he lost everything except his nagging wife. Like Jesus said, rain and sunshine fall upon beleivers and the unbelievers. God gives and takes away.

netrox, ha good thread. this is like a football player who would give his thanks to god when he touchdowns but he wouldn't give his thanks to god if he fumbles or get a back injury. or different one - they would claim that god helped them win the game but they wouldn't claim that god helped them lose the game.

Most christians think that God will destory eneimes from christains still do their evil acts. Because they claim that God will forgive their sin and allow them still do their evil acts to contuining... They are wrong.. God wil be soon have eneimes on his side to send them to destory christians's churchs and houses for various many reasons.. like in old sayings from old testmant: God will turn their head to stranger/ enemy, God will turn tail to christian which means the stranger's head will above you, because stranger is the head and you are tail like in a moment of the twinkling eye shall change after their time comes, isnt it?

Well, as of word God punishing, it's kinda miss out the part of the view. All the punishment, Jesus took our punishments upon Himself, Father punished His own Son, Jesus, bec Jesus bored our sins upon Himself, so that judgements been nailed for those who believe in Him alone. Doesn't matter if abuser or not, punishment of sin itself stained us, but Christ took our place. That is the proof of God's Love. I'm against people been abuse, regardless, who the person is, child abuse, spouse (husband or wife) abuse and etc.

Well, like Billy Graham said differently. I don't agree alot of Jerry Falwell's teaching and I know Billy Graham doesn't either. No one knows, and I stick what Jesus said, Noone knows the hour of His coming. Some religion misleading tooo many people which they themselves easily fall from their prey similar as humanist, where many fall from their prey likewise. I don't know how long defee been a christian, there are different level, if newly christian, will learn, based on their commitment level. If defee in that level, she will learn more. Bec in my early christian years, I got alot off the point, till I studied alot, and getting what God is trying to say. I learn alot in my everyday experience of all kinds. Like I said, I don't support Jerry's or Pat of their teaching.

It's Mother Nature, not God's act. I'm laughing at that people think it's God. A tornado in California threw a 2 by 4 wood right into a plaster built church in Oroville, California years ago. Also, a tornado threw a sharp object right thru Jesus picture inside a church, too. Tornadoes do not care where they throw objects or destroy stuff in its way, sometimes it's bullseye, that's all.

There are some like Cheri, Reba, Dreamslayers agree with mine. There are some christians has like what I believe and where Billy Graham shared similar. Even Dr. Charles Stanley likewise, even like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell urging Charles Stanley for the protest, he wouldn't, bec that is not how Christ taught that way. Yes, voicing must be heard, but like extremist level is out of hand. You may ask who is Charles Stanley, he is a pastor at First Baptist in Atlanta. Largest ministry to teaching christians how to know God better and basic way to edify and how to help christian in better attitude to glorify God. Now, may think same Baptist, no, Jerry Falwell under Independence Baptist and Charles under Southern Baptist. Like you said, many people would rather have people like me, that is more, many people would rather have Christ, bec that is what Jesus is trying to teach and how to minister. Many christians taking it out of extreme which is they only view the wrath of God to punishes ungodly instead of the whole message of God's love and the weight in both side.

Yeah right, ur lying to us about this. mother nature did to them and they knew it would have happen to them as it could have happen to me if San Andrea fault line strike my home and myself. I ask for it so I am ready to be hit by earthquake. Do u honestly believe God punish me for living right next to world largest fault line if it hit us real hard? No I choose to live right next to it.

Earth is always moving with storms, earthqaukes, fires, volcanoes, drought, lightening, and goes on and on. God did not punish us for those mother nature. Only God warn us if we listen to HIm in first place to move away from those dangerous moment alike Noah did and his neighbors did not follow it. That is why they died, not God's fault for allow it happen to them.

None of us should presume to know the reason the tornado destroyed that particular town, or killed those particular people. We should just show some sympathy and care for the people of that town, thru prayer and financial support. There is no reason to mock their hardship.
