Hearing girl scared of rejection....

I have been signing for about a year now. I am still learning but feel comfortable in my abilities. Anyway, what I want to ask: Are there deaf guys out there that would be comfortable dating a hearing gal? I have met so many wonderful people but as of yet am too scared to ask any of the guys out much less flirt with them, I guess I am just scared of rejection... If my communication skills are not as good as his will he get frustrated? Will he think it is not worth the trouble?...Hmm......
 
When I was young and date with hearing boys! Doesn't matter
PLus My Hearing best friend .. She was out with deaf boys too :):)
 
Guess I just have to muster up the courage, whether I look stupid or not...:stupid:

I'm a hoh/deaf man and my answer is that you will be welcome to his heart :D and he will be lucky to have you in his life. I would admire his luck.

I think I'll be in a smilar situation with a hearing girl a few months later.
 
Don't be scared. Just talk to them.

One thing though, it's important that you and him are willing to communicate at all times.

There are a lot of hearing people who want to date deaf people and sign language is a high-need. Later, some of those hearing people will talk more than sign... by accident. It can turn off those deaf people.

I've dated a few hearing gals before. Two of them are interpreters. One signs all the time whenever she's with me (unless it's in a situation where we both talk for other reasons like ordering food, etc). The other often forgets to sign when talking with hearing people. What's worse is that my parents treat her as my interpreter than my friend. :(

Where are you in Arizona? I am wondering if you live in Tucson or Phoenix. I'm in Tucson and go to U of A. I know a bunch of deaf guys who live in Phoenix and I used to party with them. They are good looking guys, but unfortunately, I was not attracted to them. I was wondering if you were talking about one of those guys I know. You can send me a private message so I can give you those guys' names. I don't think its appropriate to name their names in here.

Don't worry if you are nervous about asking one of those guys out. You should create a friendship first and give some "flirty" hints. Let's see if it catches a guy's attention. If he flirts back to you, there is a possibility that he shows some interest in you. My suggestion, I would not ask him out right away. I prefer to play a "smart" game first before I know for sure that he likes me back. I would just flirt and chat a lot with this specific guy. I would wait and see what happens. And plus, make sure this guy makes the same effort back to you to show that he is interested. If he doesn't do that, I wouldn't bother him anymore. (Just a little of common sense)

Sheba...I am from AZ too. :) Well..I agree with Vampy..if u understand deaf people's needs and value them just as u value yourself then it should be all good but sometimes we dont get what we want. After my divorce, I vowed that I would never be with a hearing man again and only be with deaf men but I dated them for 4 years. Nothing clicked and I fell in love with one of my good friends who happens to be hearing. Cant control the heart but good luck! If u live in Phx..steer clear from my brother..he is a troublemaker! JK! :giggle: Nah..he is a good guy but likes to be single toooo much right now anyway.
 
It's the same way with deaf afraid to confront hearing. It's depend on the heart. Make sure, since I met alot of hearing controlling deaf partner. In the light side, I met several who are hearing married deaf spouse, they have problems as the same as other relationship, but going beautifully together. Hope you succeed in this. smile
 
Hi Sheba! I am a hearing woman who has been taking sign classes since Sept (my niece is deaf and sister-in-law is hoh). I have just started dating a deaf man I met at a Silent Dinner. I made the "mistake" of telling my sign lab teacher I was looking for a man (I was joking) and he went around pointing out men! :giggle: Jerry went to eat with us after and he gave me his information!

I agree with the others that COMMUNICATION is key in any relationship. I was having a difficult time understanding Jerry's text message so we decided not to communicate via text but only in person.

Hearing gals are keepers! Deaf or HOH gals are as good as 'catch and release' because they usually come with tons of baggage.

My experiences with HoH and Deaf gals made it *SO* easy for me to be gay!

No offense to you. But you should be mad at the women and not at me.

My Deaf exwife left me 4 times before finally divorcing me. She ended up marrying her second husband who raped her in high school! Later on, she divorced him as well after having a kid with him. She is a sick woman who thinks it is normal for the man to beat the shit out of her. She left me because I wouldn't hurt her when she wanted me to hurt her.

I'm glad the sick bitch left for good!

I also had a Deaf exgirlfriend who had TOOOOOOOO high expectations that seemed so unrealistic and believes that sex is not okay at all before, during AND after marriage! She also had a lot of rules, rules and rules. I was patient and loving. But it wouldn't work.

And you say "Want life to be easy for u?" Don't be such a bitch about it. There are some decent, honest men who have done their damnedest to be there for the gals, but.. OMG! Some of those Deaf gals just need to back the fuck off, take a chill pill and go see a therapist!

but i was told by some deaf women that guys with baggages are no good. color me confused :(

while i'm not a gay nor misogynist and i don't like richard's opinions, he actually makes a totally valid and agreeable point. all deaf women I dated, had been in relationship with or met carried the varying stages of baggages. maybe i dated wrong women but it sure seems like that. dont get me wrong, i would like to have deaf women in my life but the experiences i had from them scare me [read deaf258's post above regarding some of the experiences i had from them].

I was referring to Richard's comments.

I don't call men names nor generalize my bad experiences to all hearing men.

Iam sorry u had bad experiences with deaf women.
