My gf and our friend Jen found two cats are in the cages in the car and it was locked. The window was closed. Jen and Spicy were trying to contact SPCA. They are closed. There is no 24/7 or emergency hotline if people have problem with their pets that attack anyone or locked in the car or any other crisis. I helped them to look for the phone numbers to contact ANYONE to rescue two cats that are locked in. The car is parking front of Spicy's apt. They went outside to see if its still there. THey called cops, they told them to call animals control. IT'S CLOSED till tomorrow. Its soo fking bs. I gave Jen San Fransciso SPCA number, they told her to contact their hometown and gave her the number. Jen called one place. They told her to call the police and animals control but the police arent helping and animals control is closed. Its SO fking BS!!!! Right now, the weather at night is cold right now in Spicy and Jen's hometown.

Any of you have problem with SPCA before?

That sucks. I think cats will be OK as long you guys do it in frist thing in the morning.

Last time I was at spca was when I had to give my dog away and they put it to sleep :(

Just smash on car's glass with weapon then save it then you are done, such as hero...

At least, you would accept to paying fines or can be excuse because of animal's safety.

It's stupid to left them in car, ugh...

OR... I have other idea... If you see this car is old model then you can take hanger and swinging in under car's window then pull to unlock the car door, we had been done in long time ago when we left key in car.

I know someone who did lock cats in. My ex roommates, I was very mad at them for doing that. They have 2 cats and was locked in the car because apartments don't allow pets. My ex roommate decide to live with other person who was renting the apartment.

I didn't know that my ex roommate did that, till I went visit my ex roommate, I happened ask her where was the cats? She say "In my car". I was like wtf? She explain me, I was so mad at her, I yelled at her as much as possible, and decided to take two cats and bring them to my place, even she don't live at my place. later finally, my ex roommate decide to move with me instead, which are very wise decision to keep her cats.

I hate when people put their pets in risk just because of their own life.

Aw poor cats, no pets should have been unattended in a car for a long period of time even whether the windows are open or closed especially during the hot and humidity weather... I agree that kennels, animal control facilities, and humane societies should have emergency hotline that opens for 24 hrs/7 days a week in case of animal abuse, life-threatening or neglect...This is sad, pets should be treat like children, it's almost like leaving two small children in the car locked up with the window open or closed... :sigh:

I looked up through google for SPCA, there is a 24 hours hotline at (914) 941-7797... here's the link http://www.townofpoundridge.com/documents/SPCA.pdf... I hope this helps :(

UPDATE

Spicy called SPCA this afternoon and explained to them. She gave them the car license plate. They told her that they ll keep their eyes on that car.

Angel, it isn't California SPCA. You gave me NY SPCA numbers. but thanks anyway.

Damn! SPCA needs to be remain open 24/7 in case of emergency or have a on call pager number in case of emergency, something to get in contract with them.

I think that she means that...
The San Francisco SPCA

Every SPCA are varying in most location, some are open at 24/7 but I can nothing to do it.
I just explained at the post that S.F. gave Jen her hometown SPCA or animal controls. Jen did call and theye were closed. S.F. cannot do anything since it isn't in their area.

Oh man I hope they do something. Yea I agree they should be open 24/7. Oh boy. I have rescued 2 dogs in the past.
