Target already ceased all VHS movies

The reason why new formats keep coming out is because they are more advanced and better than the previous formats.

I wouldn't want to stick to just one format for my entire life when I know they can be better.

Though I don't think you have anything to worry about. You won't have to replace your movies on DVD at all. You know why? Because Blu-Ray/HD DVD players can play DVD movies. So the option is there for you to upgrade to a 1080p player without having to give up your DVD collection.

This is a better situation for us this time around in comparison the VHS-to-DVD transition.

P.S., Apple, Inc. shouldn't and will not change their computers to the PC platform. Though it is now possible to run Vista on the new Intel Mac computers with Apple's Boot Camp software and some other softwares due to the x86 motherboard.

Yeah, I agree.

I don't care much for Blu-Ray or HD DVDs. I'm satisfied with the DVDs I have. I've gone to stores and seen them show off videos of stuff in HD and they do look good, but it's because those videos were specifically designed to show off the details. For instance, one video focused on the grass waving in the wind and another video focused on the mechanics of the inside of a watch.

Well, when I watch movies... I won't see the grass waving in the wind or the inside of a watch. I'll be seeing actors doing comedy, action, and romance. Where's the graphic detail in telling a knock-knock joke? Where's the detail in seeing a car blowing up or someone getting shot at? Where's the detail in seeing a couple making out in public?

If I want to focus on the superior quality of the small details of parts of a movie, then I'll get Blu-Ray. Right now, that's not cutting it for me. :)

I'm just stating the facts.

The point is, the consumers are being given the opportunity to make an upgrade. They don't have to, they can just keep on watching movies on DVD which makes sense since most people aren't HD enthusiasts.
