Not even micro evolution? I know some Christians don't believe in macroevolution, but a lot of those who don't, still believe in microevolution.I don't "believe in" evolution
Not even micro evolution? I know some Christians don't believe in macroevolution, but a lot of those who don't, still believe in microevolution.I don't "believe in" evolution
Why?
I see nothing wrong to teach students about evolution and religion... Let students decide themselves what they beleive to. My boys have religion and evolution teachers at school...
The students have the right to know and focus why every religions have different beliefs, why evolution etc.
Lol come on. evolution is real deal as you can see animals and plants undergo evolution process. so that why it is allowed for teacher to teach evolution in classroom. as for human evolution , it is senestive issue but there are evidences that human do evolved over time but the question is did we evolve from apes, that is up to debtable.
people who dont believe in evolutions would like to believe that world is flat, earth is center of universe, dinosaurs are fake, etc..
ignorace is bliss never rang truer like this kind of thnking.![]()
Ermmm, yes but its a biological theory......that's like teaching early American English and not teaching Hawthorne or Melvile. They SHOULD emphasize that it's the best theory they've come up with, and maybe in the future it might change........That's what I meant, if they refuse allow religion, then should be the same with evolution.
I don't "believe in" evolution; I also don't believe the world is flat, I don't believe anyone knows where the "center" of the universe is, and I know that dinosaurs are real.
People who believe in Creation instead of evolution don't believe the world is flat, nor do they deny the existence of dinosaurs. I don't know where you get these weird ideas.![]()

Oh, I agree, but the problem, they want teach evolution, not religion. That's where th problem start. I do agree that should not teach like you are going to hell and etc, that I don't agree with. That's what I meant, if they refuse allow religion, then should be the same with evolution.
+1
Science is always changing with new evidences. It s important that we keep our mind open![]()
I hold onto my faith, and my faith is in God's Word. The Holy Bible doesn't say that the earth is flat, and it doesn't say dinosaurs never existed. So there's no contradiction. My bad. Sometime I get best of myself and lump all christians together. I guess I am refering to christains who hold on thier faith and refused to acknowledge the science.![]()

Well I think its fine to include a little disclaimer saying " evolution is the best theory that we've come up with to explain why we're here. It's not a rock solid theory" BUT I don't think that things like Intelligent Design should be taught in public schools. What next? The Creation story of some obscure African tribe?

When you talk about evolution, you're not exactly preaching... just teaching what science has shown us.right by saying, its not right to preach about religion, but it is ok to preach about evolutions and assumptions in the education. True, I agree, shouldn't by saying you are going to hell as a straightforward, I don't agree with that phrase. Many were raised differently, what they have experiencing in bad enviroments. Bec same phrase have different way of how we say it and act by saying it.

If the parents want the kids to know that evolution isn't true, then the parents can have a private talk with their kids on their own time.
When I was growing up, I read a lot of books about evolution. My parents even bought me a huge book on the history of the universe and it included a lot of stuff about evolution. Yet, they emphasized that not everything in the book was true.
Or our best understanding about what science has done.just teaching what science has shown us.
well, many have a wrong idea what preaching means. There is no difference between teaching religions and evolution. But using the word religion, that would be preaching, many thought that how that works, but it does not. There are many founded in religions thru the history as much as evolution. But how to teach on evolution by how this universe been evolve has been changing so much and not only that, if use by saying That God creating and how gas been formed, then by using the name of God is preaching, which is not at all.
You can teach about religion by saying, "This religion believes this, or that religion belives this." But when a teacher starts telling student if they don't believe the same as him they will go to hell it is preaching. You can stay in a safe area by simply giving facts, like Darwin's theory teaches such and such, or the Christians believe this. But when you start telling others what they should believe, rather than just giving them the facts and letting them make up their own minds, you have crossed the line from teaching and started preaching.

Who does the teacher think he is telling the students they will go to hell for not having the same beliefs?Who does the teacher think he is telling the students they will go to hell for not having the same beliefs?
What teacher did is wrong as much as the teacher is wrong by telling kids there is no God. That is all is to it.
That's why public schools should be NEUTRAL towards religious beliefs. What teacher did is wrong as much as the teacher is wrong by telling kids there is no God. That is all is to it.
